If you just look in the file folder on your hard drive, they should be found there.
I'm pretty sure that's how it works for the Jedi Outcast/Academy games anyway.

I'm actually looking for some KOTOR 1 music as well, but I've only got the xbox version and I doubt that there's a way to rip the tracks from it (though I'm willing to try if anyone knows a way).

I don't suppose anyone knows a place to download the soundtracks?

You can download some music samples from lucasarts directly. Here's that link

    http://www.lucasarts.com/products/swkotor/S_supplies.html

Also, if you want to get sound effects or music and don't want to go through the hassle of extracting audio via 3rd party applications (if they don't already come as mp3s in the game directories) the best way is through playing the game (windows based) while recording from an app like Audacity. You can usually turn off sound effects or turn off music in the game to get the desired audio. Then just set your audio mixer to record to stereo mix and you're good to go. That's how I extracted effects from Gungan Frontier. now if you're using something like an Xbox or Playstation just hook the audio out into the line in on the back of the sound card and record it that way. You may need an adapter depending on how the console handles audio out.

wierd.......i forgot the instructions on how to extract the fx from jedi outcast so i went to the tutorial thread to look for it ( http://theforce.net/theater/postproduction/soundfx/ ) and it is "forbidden"--anyway i should jsut do the same thing (if i remember) i did with jedi outcast to jedi academy to get the saber sounds, right??-

anyway--i think i actually got a good sound sequence using the outcast files---well i will post this on my other thread

thanks again for the tips all

A whole lot of the audio from the SW games has already been extracted and can be found in the sound links in the sticky thread.

    thanks

For JKII and JK:Academy, just go into "X:/Program Files/LucasArts/Jedi Knight II/" where X is the harddrive that the game is intalled on. Within the game folder find the to files named assets0.pak and assets1.pak and change the '.pak's to '.zip's. Now you can open up the file as a zip file with WinXP, WinZip, Stuffit, WinRar etc... For KOTOR and KOTORII, you need to download Miles Sound Tools, to decompress the .Wav files in the game folder. Do a google search for Miles Sound Tools.
