I'll never get over the missed opportunity to make Prune Face a Bothan, the last surviving of the lot that brought the plans to the Rebels loosing an eye in the process. 1995 WEG's only epic failure ever.
We do have something like that already: "The Levels of Power" Spoilers for a seven year old short story Spoiler After the destruction of the Executor and the death of the Emperor but before the inevitable Death Star explosion, Sloane assumes command of the Imperial fleet and order the retreat. Granted, I love her character and it's a shame we haven't seem to have seen her in a while.
In WEG's defense, Heir to the Empire had already described Bothans as something pretty different than "Prune Face" by the time Galaxy Guide 12 finally got around to naming and describing Dressellians for the first time. Had Zahn not beaten WEG to the punch, that scenario may well have happened.
You just know there's going to be loads of juicy ones in Jabba's palace. Hope Yakface gets one. Also all the rebels, and I can imagine some pretty cracking Ewok ones. The one for ROTJ is the one I've been waiting for. So many possibilities.
I want a Dorovio Bold story And yeah, Rae Sloane story already done for Endor/ROTJ. I doubt we'll get more than a mention or perhaps Piett briefing the admirals and captains of the 33 Imperial-class/3 Tector-class Star Destroyers and 2 battlecruisers (Ilthmar's Fist re-canonised baby!) along with captains from support ships (Strikes, Carracks, Nebulon-Bs, Tartans, Arquitens, Raiders) and the Interdictors and Sloane will make an appearance. Heck, we'll probably get 15 Jabba's Palace/Pit of Carkoon stories, 10 lead-up to Endor stories and 15 Endor stories).
Absolutely - and long time no see AdmiralNick! Also, Arvel Crynyd - at long last, hopefully. Plus Wedge, maybe Salm (outside shot) Madine, and just maybe Rex. Piett, pretty much for sure, and maybe penned by Jason Fry? But he has so many options to potentially choose from...
Since Empire Strikes Back From a Certain Point of View had some odd choices for short stories involving the creatures such as the tauntauns and the asteroids space worm, i wouldnt be surprised if these stories were already made or being made for Return of the Jedi From a Certain Point of View the Sarlaac being sentient. story would pretty much reuse some of the stuff from Tales From Jabba's Palace anyway stufff the ewoks were doing before the Empire came to the forest moon what the rest of the Rebel fleet thought of during the Death Star II briefing, their thoughts on the martyrs Bothans, and Luke just stopping by all of a sudden etc Han forgiving Lando the Emperor's dignitaries what their thoughts were the whole time while on the Death Star II
Jason should do Sloane’s PoV so he can confirm the type of ships the battlecruisers are. I’d take Qaz-type at this rate.
With Crimson Dawn infiltrating the Empire on many levels seems possible that it will be revealed that Palpatine leaked info about Death Star II firstly to its agents, with the Bothans serving only as intermediaries between them and Rebels.
two or three ewoks stories in the next possible Return of the Jedi From a Certain Point of View I wouldnt mind reading through. but if the Rancor story gets overboard like the sentient asteroid space worm and the tauntauns in Empire From a Certain Point of View, Ill skip that Rancor story.
The official announcement was made, and cover art revealed, during today's "This Week in Star Wars." Gorgeous cover!
Finally! Good to have this confirmed. These books are absurdly ambitous undertakings, 40 stories, 40 authors, all aligned to a film structure. Who'd be mad enough to do this three times over?
I love if we get mentions of Darth Plagueis in Palpatine's mind in this novel. What are his thoughts in his final momments before he dies.
