Possibly the funniest show on TV

This is the funniest show on TV by a long chalk at the moment, BBC2 11pm onwards weekday evenings but as with all things BBC2 its never on at the same time or on the same day each week


I would happily say that this show is funnier than the Simpsons. It may be a bold claim but I believe it to be true.

Anyway, i do love this show, but sometimes i can sit through a whole episode and not laugh once.

American dad makes me laugh more often and harder than family guy.


An example:
Stan (dad) and francine (mum) are making out on the dining room table, then their son (steve) walks in.

Steve: Um, dad, what are you doing?

Stan: Um, i was just...buffing the table with your mother (then proceeds to use francine to buff the table, squeeky noise and all)

And roger the camp alien is hillarious!

I didn't like American dad at first but now I think its sooooo funny, they had an episode with a cameo from Star Wars kid on the other day, classic.

 

You see I'm the other way round, I found the first couple of episodes absolutely brilliant then my interest dipped a little. Tbh I think I need to watch them properly again, its probably more a case of me than American Dad.

 

Family Guy is brilliant and American Dad is funny but The Simpsons is still KING.

Nope. The Simpsons seasons 1-9 is great and peerless. However everything after that is atrocious. In a further two seasons, The Simpsons will have been extremely poor for as long as it was great. A show with such an even split between good and bad cannot still be considered King. I'd still say The Simpsons comes out on top, because it's first nine seasons were better than anything that has come since (including Family Guy), however The Simpsons as an undisputed champion... no... those days are gone. One day, if Family Guy can retain the quality it has shown, it may usurp The Simpsons place at the top - which is as much a terrible commentary on the way the show has destroyed itself creatively as it is on the obvious qualities of Family Guy.

Nope. Anyone who still finds The Simpsons funny was missing exactly what made it great in the first place.

EDIT: Also, I always find posting 'In your opinion' to be a supreme cop-out.

i agree with everything Fatburty said. Ive been a massive fan of family for a couple of years now adn I think it has always been funnier tjan the simpsons was

 

QFT. The Simpsons has lost the whole point of why it started. It was supposed to be about a normal family that is a bit over the top now it is just ridiculus.

 

actually, i agree with that statement. but I still find family guy funnier

 

I love Family Guy, though I do find some of their episodes hit and miss.

The new season in the states, Season 4, has been awesome so far though. The number of Star Wars, Indy, Sci-Fi, cult TV stuff that is referenced is amazing.

In fact, the whole Stewie scene at the beginning of one episode, that starts like Naked Gun, then Stewie fights like Yoda in Episode II, then does the opening of Police Squad with Stewie riding a trike, with scenes from Star Wars, Sound of Music and others, just had me cracked up. Superb.

Oh, and I highly recommend the Family Guy movie, The Stewie Griffin Story. Hilarious.

As regard to The Simpsons wait for the MOVIE I think it will be one of the FUNNIEST movies ever made I've just got this wired feeling about it.

 

If I had three wishes, and could wish for anything... millions of pounds, world peace, fame, my dreams fulfilled... I would still use one of my wishes to prevent The Simpsons coming to the big screen.

 

Thats one of the DVD's me mam has got me for christmas.
