After rewatching each of the Star Wars films probably over 100 times, I find myself very fond of the moment between Anakin and Padme before Anakin leaves to find his mother. To me, this scene is not only the best in the Prequels, but in all of Star Wars (so far) as well. The use of the silhouettes, combined with the transition from Binary Sunset to Duel of the Fates (a track that plays whenever Anakin's fate is being thrown around), back to the use of the silhouettes for the end of the scene. It's just fantastic. Attack of the Clones is my least favorite Star Wars movies, but contains my favorite scene.
Favorite scene would have to be the Tusken slaughter starting with Anakin finding his mom on the verge of death.
Aside from battle scenes (of which my favorite would be Anakin vs. Obi-Wan), my favorite scene would have to be Order 66. The music and cinematography were done excellently. Further, during the march on the Jedi Temple and the Separatist massacre, Anakin looked like what I imagined OT Vader would be like pre-suit. (excluding the completely unnecessary youngling part)
As a scene Order 66 is my favourite. I do like the whole 'Anakin come to your senses' back and forth between Obi Wan and Anakin in AOTC.
For me, my favourite scenes are watching Palpatine inflict swift justice by defeating and killing windu and his posse after they try to illegally kill Palps and illegally overthrow the galactic republic. Also, watching the implementation of order 66, including the raid on the Jedi Temple. To quote Yoda from AOTC "Brings warm feelings to my heart." P.S. Jedi Knight Fett, I couldn't agree more with your signature. Especially the second part...
Ah! These threads never grow old. One from each movie: TPM: Jar Jar and Queen Amidala on Coruscant ("Yousa tinkin yousa people gonna die?") AOTC: Meditation scene on Naboo ROTS: Eerie promises at the window: http://****yeahpadmeamidala.tumblr....-not-going-to-die-in-childbirth-ani-i-promise EDIT: LOL!!!! The Tumblr link is censored. Click and replace junk with naughty word.
My all time favorite scene in the PT is when Anakin(now as Darth Vader) is walking up to the Jed]i Temple with the 501st behind him.
My favorite scene of the prequels is Anakin's and Shmi's farewell in The Phantom Menace. It get me every time. It also plays into Anakin's and Shmi's final farewell in Attack of the Clones. It gets me every time just as the first scene.
The entire Obi-Wan vs Anakin/Yoda vs Sidious sequence. It's amazing, and combined with the Battle of the Heroes/Duel of the fates remix, it's probably my favorite part of the entire saga... The part at 4:00 roughly....
My favourite bit from any of the films will ALWAYS be "you were my brother, Anakin. I loved you." I don't care what the ST throws at us. It's unbeatable. I'll throw a shout out for Watto and Qui-Gon negotiating their first deal in the Junk shop. Also Jar Jar and Amidala musing over Naboo's plight - which is so beautifully understated you can almost miss it's brilliance. The last lap of the pod-race is just wonderful too. I also love Obi-Wan playing detective when he arrives on Geonosis - that whole middle section of Clones is fantastic cinema. "Welcome home, Lord Tyranus." Anakin's meeting with Yoda in ROTS. There's just too many. I could be here all day.
This is going to seam like a total gush, but I watched TPM the other night and after what seamed like five minutes, I was at Maul pacing up and down behind the plasma wall. I only put it on to check out what it looked like now after all that talk of practical effects, and I sort of couldn't stop watching it. It almost felt like every scene had something to recommend it - and if a not so favorite moment came along, my mind knew that the next wipe was worth waiting for. Incredibly dense I guess - those people seam to think that is some kind of diss and forever quote that line as if it is a fault. How can it be a fault when 1 5 years later I'm STILL noticing things. So I genuinly find it difficult to find favourtites. But just some little things that stick. The tanks on Naboo - I love the trees going down and all those fauna running - a great 'completely unreal but real looking scene. That whole invasion scene is so compact but effective. Sebullba's crash - the way it breaks down from carnage to just his pod stopping in the sand and the way it cuts from his "poodo!" to the cheers and Anakins victory. Great way to finnish the race - concentrate on his wipe out rather than Anakin crossing the line. The fleet of Republic cruisers taking off in ROTS after Obi-Wans conversation with Anakin - there is just a little bit of camera shake just to get over the mass of power taking off. The close up of Grievous's face in the duel - that guy really creeps me out. Anakin and Padmes picnic ! Oh yes ! The Federation orb crashing to the ground and the battle in the ensuing dust storm on Geonosis. Obi-Wan versus Jango. The young Jedi taking out the clone troopers in front of Bail who scrambles really realistically into his speeder. Anyway - it just goes on and on - almost every scene a painting. If forced - only one - maybe Obi-Wan versus Grievous, that really seams to hurt, a very underrated fight. Or maybe order 66. errr... no !! the opening scene of ROTS - War ! Wait, the Maul fight? The pod race? Right, no, the Opera scene. Errr.... I think.
As always, Padme's Ruminations is my favorite. Beat out Luke vs. Vader in ROTJ to become what I think of as the Star Wars moment.
No, the scene without any dialogue where Padme and Anakin seem to silently "regard" one another from across the city. Right before Anakin intervenes on the arrest of Palpatine.
It's an awe inspiring moment, especially that Anakin is looking in the same direction his son would be looking a couple of decades later, yet he turns away and speeds off into the night. The revival of Binary Sunset accentuates it so beautifully, as if saying this is the last moment we'll see Anakin as a completely good man, and then it's overtaken by Duel of the Fates, dominating the dark path he is destined to follow. It is the true point of no return.
