So in this Thread I would like to hear people's favourite Star Wars songs. Whether it is Remixed, a theme tune, or something that has minor relations to Star Wars at all! Which ever I would love to hear it!
1."Jedi Fury" ROTJ Palpatine's theme/darkside theme in ROTJ/TPM "Duel of Fates" TPM "Force theme" that plays in various movies. Favorite one(plays in AotC when Anakin gets on speeder to find his mother) "Droid theme and Droid Invasion" in TPM "Imperial March" ESB
I'm just going to put this here as a VASTLY under appreciated theme Cheerful, calm and uplifting, if not a bit flamboyant, followed by quiet and sincere, full of longing in a heavy heart, the tug of desperation with the passion still alight
If your talking about songs with lyrics then that tune that was playing in Maz's castle from TFA. If soundtracks then Binery Sunset for me.
This isn't my all time favorite track (that'd probably be The Throne Room or the unlisted medley that plays at the very end of the Return of the Jedi duel) but it's a really great track that enhances the scene it is used in. Most of the Revenge of the Sith score is really well utilized in general though.
If we're talking "songs," I'd go with the classic song we hear in the Cantina by Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes. If we're talking "score," I would definately say Throne Room and Finale from ANH. I love lots of others which come close, but this one just does it for me.
My absolute favorite is the duel between luke and vader. My second is actually from the clone wars, the season 5 finale song.
I agree the luke vader duel Music in jedi is Amazingly haunting. I think j williams added vocals in rotj in music pieces like that and the emperors theme Was really great idea and then he expanded on it in the prequels, no matter what your opinion on the prequel films are(I love them) no one can deny that the music in the prequels is amazing, I still listen to the rots soundtrack in the car to and from work.
It changes regularly, but this weekend I've been really digging Lando's Palace from the ESB Special Edition soundtrack. It's very subtle and contains most of the key themes without being obliterated by the Imperial March - something which happens way too much on that soundtrack.
A song involves singing, so... Obviously. And how about this? Seriously, though, the best SW theme involving vocals (although no actual lyrics) is the the 'Emperor's theme' from ROTJ, used in several cues. After that, probably 'Duel of the Fates' from TPM, which does have lyrics.
1. CIS Anthem, played on Vader's march on the Jedi temple. 2.Force Theme 3.Music when Luke duels Vader on the Death Star II. 4.Opening Theme 5.Imperial March 6.Across the Stars 7.March of the Resistance 8.Battle of the Heroes (Obi-Wan VS Vader on Mustafar)
Lately I've taken a real liking to "Ben's Death/TIE Fighter Attack". The rendition of Leia's theme that plays after Ben dies is so sweeping and sounds like something you might hear in a Zorro film; I guess that makes sense though since Star Wars was envisioned as a swash-buckling tale of romance, heroes, villains....yada yada, you know the rest lol. And then the Rebel fanfare music that plays during the TIE fighter attack just has such a classic Star Wars feel:
There's almost too many to mention, and it's often when they are used as cues elsewhere or reprised that they have the most heft, but I'd say: The Jedi Steps/Finale Rey's Theme/The Scavenger Princess Leia's Theme Binary Sunset The Force Theme Across the Stars Padme's Ruminations
Surely it has to be any of the songs on Star Wars Party by Meco? So hard to pick one, and I'm tempted to go for Boogie Wookie, but it has to be Live Your Life, for the Alec Guiness samples and the awesome lyric "Live your life, like a Jedi Then the Force, the Force'll be with you"
The cue when Luke and Vader battle on the Death Star, i think its called " Jedi's fury" but im not 100% And 2nd is the Victory Celebration song not "Yub Nub"
After the Throne Room March (and any version of the Force theme really), it would be this: This recent cover of the song was great too! Both vids are pure aural sex.
I say, for best song - well, the BEST 30 MINUTES OF STAR WARS AWESOME IN GENERAL THE ENTIRE BATTLE OF ENDOR SCORE
