Can someone give me some info on Ferus? He sounds pretty interesting and I've read about him and Anakin being rivals. What's his personality, what's he look like? Any info is great help!

I don't remember Ferus' physical description but, yes, in the books he and Anakin were rivals. They were close in age and had masters (Obi-Wan and Siri, I think) who were many times sent on missions together.

Ferus could be described as self-righteous. He knows what is right and what is wrong and to him there is no gray area. He is a very skilled fighter but usually not prone to find unusual ways to solve problems like Anakin.

The two have been on numberous missions together and they usually end up arguing in whatever they are doing. Ferus is a good character used as a backdrop to display the not-so-subtle differences in Anakin's character and a "typical" young apprentice.

I personally really like him. :)

I've recently done a little research on Ferus for a story. Here's what I came up with.

I can't recall details of his stature at the moment, but for some reason I'm picturing him as kinda tall and leanly built. He definitely has dark hair with a characteristic streak of gold running through it.

The JQ books describe him as the "ideal" padawan. Anakin is jealous of him, but not for his abilities; rather, he hates the way Ferus always seems to make the right choices and do the right things.

There are many references in the JQ books to the way he makes Anakin feel like an outsider, especially when he and Obi-Wan, Siri and Ferus are sent on missions. Ferus seems to think more in-line with both older Jedi, and is always praised whereas Anakin is more often chastised for taking the wrong tactic.

Ironically, there is scene in JQ #8, I think, where Obi-Wan is talking to Ferus. Ferus mentions that at least Anakin has made some real friends among the padawans. In other words, Ferus feels like an outsider too, as if the pressure to perform well is often overwhelming.

Mostly what I gather from the books is that Ferus doesn't actually dislike Anakin. He seems to fear Anakin's potential. I think he believes Anakin doesn't respect his own power and he fears for the galaxy in light of the possibility that Anakin will use poor judgment and make a mistake that will cause infinite harm. I guess that makes Ferus pretty perceptive in light of canon events.

Ferus is an "inside the box" thinker, whereas Anakin loves unconventional methods. He's always saying things like "that isn't what a Jedi would do..."

Also, Ferus's personal dignity is very important to him. He hates to be embarassed or proven wrong. He despises dishonesty and hates anything that isn't noble of purpose.
