Lit Ferus Olin's death

I have recently finished reading the book series "The Last Of The Jedi"(which is amazing) and i just wanted to know more about Ferus and especially the way he died.I searched in wookipedia and i found out that Darth Vader kills him in a book.Could somebody tell me the title of the book(or book series)?

 

He died in a book called Rebel Force: uprising

 

Did we ever get confirmation that Alex Wheeler was a Jude Watson pseudonym?

Better question: Did we ever need that confirmation?

 

I would like to know either way. I haven't read Rebel Force so I can't compare the style. Why change the name after 3 successful series and spinoffs? Perhaps Rebel Force may have sold better under Watson name.
