Fett's flirting ruins the character

I don't like the way Boba Fett flirted with the girl in Jabba's palace in the ROTJ Special Edition. What we saw of Fett in Episodes V and VI gave the impression of a brutal, tough-as-nails bounty hunter who had no need for men and no desire for women.

That very brief scene really made Fett look weak and undermined his character.

 

Who said he didn't need women. He just became Rich by turning in Han... It didn't seem like he was ruching to go find more bounties... Let the man kick back and relax man! He doesn't need to be "Tough as nails" when he's around friends....

Boba is a Bounty hunter probably one of the most feared. So obiously he is pretty popular. look at the crowd that hangs with Jabba. The chick probably just wanted a go with a bad dude...
All women love a bad boy....

I think the shot was cool.... It just makes SW more real. Flirting... you know..

 

Jango didn't need to go out flirting. He had Taun We.

 

I find the flirting shot only enhances Fett's character. He is a man, after all, and straight (as far as we know).

It would have been better if he were to have hit on Pamela Lee, she has a thing for bad asses you know. Come on, he's a guy, would you rather see him pokin Sy Snoodles!

 

I think it's fine that he tried chatting up that dancer. If he hadn't, there would probably be threads here insinuating he was gay. Overall, he's nowhere near as masculine as the average fictional character in his archetype. No swaggering and no gun-slinging like his father.

 

Looks like I'm a minority of one in this thread.

I always pictured Boba Fett as being so incredibly driven that literally every waking moment is devoted to hunting bounties or to honing his skills as a mercenary. I always thought of him as deadly serious and humorless.

I just figured that if any woman ever showed any interest in him, he'd reason that there's no profit in it and tell her to take a hike.

For me, seeing him flirt with a woman just somehow makes him seem less the no-nonsense, strictly business bounty hunter.

It's interesting that Jango wanted a son but had no wife or other consort. To me, this reinforces the idea that Fett would have neither desire nor need for a woman. It would not be a case of him being homosexual or asexual. Boba, like Jango, would simply be psychologically "stripped down" to the essentials of what is needed to be the best possible hunter. This would preclude such unnecessary "baggage" as romantic inclinations, lust, and lonliness.

I never thought he was flirting ...how can we tell if he is flirting or not you can't see is facial expression with that damn bucket on his head.

I love the flirting scene, it is my favorite SE addition by far. I wonder if the dancer knows theres another million just like him accross the galaxy?

or maybe they're all dead because of accelerated growth.... who knows.

I don't really think the flirting enhances or damages Boba Fett as a character. I personally like to view him as a strict, well-disciplined bounty hunter. I never honestly saw him as the type to give out affection, or even to take a piece of slave girl when he had the chance. Fett seemed like a "strictly business" kind of guy. Who knows. Oh, and by the way, I though the best SE addition was seeing more of the wampa creature.
