    Yeah, I realize this ain't for a movie or Star Wars, but I gotta spread the love. Besides, X feels a lot more like watching a movie than playing a game anyway. And there is a movie.

    Anyway, the music in the three installments I've played is some of the best I've heard in video games. Whether it's the instantly recognizable "Aerith's Theme" from VII, or the haunting piano of "To Zanarkand"/"At Zanarkand" (I've seen the title translated both ways) from X, some of the music just makes me tear up, the latter especially.
    "Tina's Theme" from VI is as recognizable as "Aerith's Theme" from VII, and "Suteki da Ne" is one of the best love themes I've heard--period. (Despite the fact that I don't speak Japanese. :p) Heck, that's been the only song I've listened to since I downloaded it.
    The combat theme in VII is one that will pop into my head at random times throughout the day, and what player of it could forget the gothness of "One-Winged Angel"? And the eerie "J-E-N-O-V-A"...
    I could go on all day with this series' music and still have love for it. VI even included an opera! On the SNES!

    J-E-N-O-V-A all the way! J-E-N-O-V-A all the way!

    I [face_love] J-E-N-O-V-A. gotta love that obnoxious high part. :p

    but "One Winged Angel" is cool too.

    And here is a place where I get a lot of MIDIs from the series. Plus some piano recordings people make of their own arrangements.

    460 MB of FF Music on my hard drive and I have absolutely no idea what J-E-H-O-V-A is. Enlighten me, please.

    I can listen to Suteki da ne all day long, too. It's really wonderful. Maybe because I don't know what she is singing (I thing I never bothered to read a translation). Normally I don't like Love song lyrics that much.

    And Liberi Fatali is one of the most exciting pieces I know. So Awesome :cool:

    Final Fantasy music is just the best.

    FFIV, FFVI, FFVII, and FFVIII have the best scores. But that's not to say the rest aren't good either.

    I love the Imperial Theme of FFVI. :D

    Another name of God. 8-}

    Even though much of it is worked by two different composers aside from Uematsu, I've grown to enjoy the style in FFX more than the others. There's the tradition FF style present in it, with the use of thematic material. But I get a kick out the situational music (like "Twilight", "Run!", "Yevon's Judgement" or "Wandering Flame") that doesn't use as much character themes as the past games, but is more moody.

    This may sound blasphemous (and the music purists will rip me to shreds for this; I know for I used to be one myself), but sometimes I wish JW would use more synthesizer stuff in Star Wars. Not the kind of work that Don Davis did with the Matrix soundtracks, but more tradition music that evokes the same orchestra feel. I just think you can add that much more range by doing that.

    The music when Cloud and the others skydive into Midgar is golden.
