I think they rely on this power a little too awkwardly.
I think it's realy a bad idea in the first place -- but alas I cant change that.

But "flow walking" into the past with the even remote possibility that it could change the present etc I think is a terribly slippery slope.

And walking into the future regardless of however in motion the future always is is silly -- mostly because of just that -- if the future is always in motion -- flow walking into the future is useless.

I think this is a power that becomes a little too "all powerful" and a little hard to believe if it exists that it hasnt been abused to anyones knowledge.

It seems to me if Jacen can do this -- he really doesnt need to do anything to win a war when he can simply maneuver the past to fit his goals.

I am not saying that that there is anything to be done about the fact that is already a power in existence - but perhaps it could just be dropped and fade away?

    Anyone feel the same way?

There's pretty much no way to discuss this without spoilers.

I liked the idea that the Force would correct any potential implications and for the large part history would remain the same. Basically, the force destroyed the butterfly effect .

i hear ya with that -- but thats such a flimsy explanation.
and i dont see how its possible.

lets say you save anakin solo -- does he just die another way? its inevitable?
ok -- lets say it is - but he sure could have an effect on some other event that changes things -- and thus the butterfly effect becomes difficult to prevent!

and what if more than one force user is doing it?? then doesnt the domino effect + the butterfly effect = no way for there to be a simple the force will correct it?

doesnt that make the will of the force the only thing that dictates anything at all in the gffa!?
meaning the YV could never have prevailed without the force laying in wait?

I like this too. It's pretty much the Farscape explanation of time travel which says that if the people and motivations are nudged close enough to the original events, then history will recover and the repercussions will be extremely limited. It may not make sense scientifically, but this is Star Wars.
