For the love of Gambit, is X-Men Evolution cancelled?!?

After watching the season finale of the 4th season of X-Men evolution today on the WB at 11:30 (eastern time), I couldn't help but notice that it ended...rather terribly if one were looking forward to the next season (like I am, or at least, was).

I have heard rumors that it'd be cancelled after 4 seasons, but I wasn't sure (and quite frankly, don't wish to believe it).

If any of you all have news on whether it is, or is not, any info would be great.

No one needn't point out that the series is worse than the original cartoon (cause that'd make you Captain Obvious), I'm more upset that I won't be able to get my X-Men fix until the movies come out .

 

Am I the only one who expected more with the final battle with Apoclypse? Cause I felt really let down with the end as is. As for its cancellation, I didn't hear anything about it on any comic sites, so I would guess it's coming back.

 

Yeah, the final battle was a bit disappointing...it seems like that the person who stopped it coulda stopped it from the beginning...instead of waiting such a long time (I'll refrain from possible spoiling just in case no one has seen it and still wish to).

 

man i watched the first half of that 2 part thingy and said this has gone down the drain! right now im downloading all the original episodes(of the original series), those are classic!

 

The original series took itself too seriously. Although I liked it as a kid, in retrospect I think I like X-Men: Evolution better. That said, I should probably mention that I keep forgetting to watch the new episodes. Oh well, hopefully I'll remember to watch the reruns.

 

I hate the animation in Evolution. Just absolutely dreadful.

If you ask me, what they should do is bring back the original series, try and get as many of the original voice actors, artists, and writers as possible. I would most definately watch that. My niece and nephew love the original series much more than Evolution thanks to my tapes.

 

back when x-men 1 came out fox started playing the original episodes, i was happy until they stopped again...theyre evil, that fox, evil!

 

The original series was great accept that it kept on bringing up the same story ideas as the comic book...maybe not exactly how they were played out but still...

I personally find evolution to be a breath of fresh air. Same characters same teams just a different scenario...Its fresh but not unfamiliar.

I scincerely hope it is not canceled...but I am so far behind...I rarely get time to watch episodes anymore.

 

i dont like that they messed with the ages! storm was about 18 when cyclops was 25! kitty pryde was 13 when storm was like 20 or 19 or what naught, and despite the fact that wolverine is like 200, he didnt meet the x-men till after they were not kids!! and dont get me started on their making collosus and gambit evil...

 

I thought the whole take on the ages was interesting - even though I sincerely recognize it destroyed the characters themselves. And yeah, the Gambit and Colossus thing - long story . I probably wouldn't have minded so much if they were in the series more.

I liked the animation . My rule of thumb is that if it has better drawings that what I can do - it's good by me .

So, no idea if the show is cancelled?

Seriously, he has got to be most useless character I've ever seen.

 

Yeah, I can't say as I liked Spyke all that much.

 

I taped the season finale but still have not watched it. I haven't heard anything about it being cancelled and I hope they don't. I liked the original show better but I still like this one. The ony think that irks me is the whole age thing. That and that they made Gambit evil.

I think they've already brought back the original cartoon on FoxFamily, but they pass it too early,(when I'm either asleep or at school).

Yeah that pissed me off too and that he didn't date Rogue (correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't seen all of X-Men Evolution), but I still like X-Men Evolution. I haven't seen the old cartoon in a long time but I remember it being badass!

 

Yeah, I think the orignal X-Men series way better. But Fox cancelled it. Now that I think of it, I remember that Fox cancelled the original Spider-Man series too.

I never really gave X-Men: Evolution a chance though. I couldn't stand Wolverine's voice. After he was so cool in the original, this Wolverine was just...blah

 

Now that I think of it, I remember that Fox cancelled the original Spider-Man series too.

Actually due to the Film they were asked by someone I assume at Marvel to alter the series so that they would not have to of the same timelines conflicting. The Changed the series to Spiderman Unlimited which was so awful it canceld itself...

Fox had little choice in either series...they stopped making money on the shows so they had to end something that was not turning a profit...its the nature of the beast.

They have season 5 started in production I think. They just have to make the thing. And Evolution is so much better then the original it's nutty.

Keep in mind though, Gambit is COOL evil, you know he'll turn real good soon enough. Besides his voice actor... him and Rogue are reall interacting well I think.

Evolution>Original. They make the story work. If not for a few kiddy moments/episodes, everything is better. And the animation is at least 4 times better then the originals.

It is? It looks too much like wannabe anime for my tastes. The original series was better, IMO, it had more depth and detail. This new X-men series *gag*.
