Forbidden Possession and Lightsabers

In AOTC Anakin states that possession is forbidden in the Jedi Order. Each Jedi has a personalized lightsaber, couldn't this be a form of possession?

Article Four of the rules which apply to Non-Spoiler forums states that "4) Posting an item which has the possibility of being a spoiler or something which can be percieved as a spoiler" is against the rules. This post has been trimmed in accordance.

 

The starfigheter is not in Episode 3, so for all you spoiler-free guys who think you've just been spoiled, can breathe easy now.

It was a background simply created for the Hasbro model.

As for the lightsabers, that's a good point. But building your own lightsaber is part of Jedi training.

 

Exacly. They have to build their own lightsabers, which means they're customized. This shows a level of possession. Now maybe the elder Jedi just tend to over look this.

 

or you could take it one step further and say "OMG! That means they must share underwear, because they couldn't posess their own!".

I don't think that the "possesion" rule really applies.

 

Exactly that rule has to many technicalities.

Mace Windy that is why I added the second part to that sentence, I think most people know about the starfighter since it's been mentioned on several non spoiler data banks including the offical site's data bank.

 

Sorry, man, this is a very silly idea.

What the Jedi mean by possessions is the idea that they can't be attatched. In order for one to be able to make good decisions, one must not be influenced from personal attatchments, which was what the Dark Woman was trying to achieve by losing her name- completely anonymity, a true servant to the force.

However, it goes without saying that each Jedi needs items, i.e. saber, underwear, robes, and it probably isn't a good idea to have communal undies. However, I am sure that if one of the Jedi owned a 10,000,000 credit estate on Alderaan, it would be frowned upon.

BTW- possessions also refer to the more surreal. For instance, Padme's heart... that is a possession that leads to the dark side... and 2 whiny-ass kids. Which I seriously don't understand because a lot of Jedi have lineage, passed on through bloodlines...

I think the possessions rule refers to possession outside the Order for example being secretly married.

 

Yeah, I mean, you gotta have SOME possesions-I would hope they don't have to share undies and toothbrushes and things like that!

Probably just the bare necessities-maybe some toys as a kid, a few books. Just the basic stuff.

You're probably allowed to have some stuff to draw or write with, I'm assuming.

But other than that, it's basically a shared community.

Ok if you want go over to the official site and look up Anakin's starfighter and you'll see where I was coming from before the mod edited the post. Also when I first posted this topic I forget what one of the things were that Anakin mentioned to Padme. That being attachment and there's a certain paint scheme that upsets Obi-Wan about the starfighter, because it show's an attachment of Anakin's before he joined the Jedi. But the comparision was on personalization. So check out the starfighter info and you'll know what I mean. And it's not considered a spoiler because those are not posted in the official site's databank until after it is shown.
