About every Force Friday article online has comments like this concerning the new TFA figures:

    "Where's the articulation?"
    "No detail at all."
"Way to drop the ball, Hasbro."
    "Garbage."

I personally don't know what's changed over the years. If anything, the toys look way better than the Kenner series or the TPM series. At what point did collecting figures become about how realistic they are? They're toys made for ten-year-olds, not whatever this demographic is looking for.

On a similar note I must say that Sphero's new RC droid, while overpriced, looks cool as ice.

I don't know... but too many people love being negative, and using the internet to let everyone else know how displeased they are with everything. [face_laugh]

I personally don't love the $7.99 3 inch figs, but they are not bad.
If ppl don't like that, that's what the BlackSeries is for.(If u can find them..)

I'm liking a lot of the stuff they have! The biggest mistake they've made though is some merchandise is a liiiitle spoilery. I managed to stay away from anything too revealing though

However, they've got some really good things there not exclusive to TFA....

Thanks! Gonna hang it up tomorrow morning when the neighbours aren't trying to sleep :p

I found it at Target. Seems they've got a particularly special deal with Force Friday

Hope you all had a Happy Force Friday! :) A new TIE Fighter and X-Wing now sit on my shelf. They have the exact same functions and mechanics as the original Kenner TIE Fighter and X-Wing from '77. Very charming.

Heh, I just typed Force Friday into google and the first article that came up read "Force Friday was a Disaster for Many Star Wars Fans"

I guess you're right. People are/were pretty pissed. From my experience at Disney stores they were stocked pretty good with everything, must have been where all the merch went. Everybody got something and everybody was happy. Not just at midnight either, even all throughout the day Friday.

I'm not reading replies to this so I don't know what this is about, but this stuff is out too soon. Jeez. I wonder if it would have been put out this soon for a May release without trying to get stuff in Christmas catalogs.

Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. Suffering is not getting the action figure you wanted.

I don't go crazy over the toys myself and don't understand lines of 40 year olds waiting outside at midnight to grab all the toys before kids can enjoy them. I have a decent collection of Star wars stuff I suppose, but not many toys. The toys always seem a bit crappy to adult eyes I suppose....[IMG]

The toys that are ambiguously for adults and children are fine. Of course there are "immature" toys, but kids are going to like those.

The one issue I've noticed is that there's no Leia and only one Padmé figure out of everything they've released that's new. I don't think I've even seen either of them stocked in the older releases of figures. It's puzzling to me.

I think the figures are fine, and I would've bought plenty - if I could've found any!

On my local news a lady was all bent out of shape and up in arms over the black series Slave Leia. She managed to gather enough angry parents to have it pulled from the shelves at Target or Wal-Mart. I forget which. She deemed it to sexually deviant and sexist. There was even an angry father upset his son wanted one lol.

Although some people indeed glorify that costume in the wrong way (guilty), in a story standpoint it's meant to show how sexist JABBA is. Not the movie itself. People forget that villains do "villain-y" things. If you don't like it, good. The movie has succeeded.

They also acted like it was something new... not like they've been offended since 1983.

That slave outfit wouldn't be allowed in modern SW films I bet. The closest thing was the skimpy slave outfit Ahsoka wore in a CW episode.[IMG]

TFA is looking real promising in terms of not offending anyone. I'm pretty sure the casting team chose the key actors based on talent... But I got to say, they really lucked out getting a black British man, a woman, and a Hispanic as their big 3. If anything, white folk like me should be offended (kidding).

I'm curious how the toy packages look.
Without naming anyone or giving details and just yes or no answers:
Do the names of the figures have scenes or situations in them? (For example: Luke Skywalker in Bespin Fatigues / Snake Eyes Paris Pursuit) Does the packaging specifically describe them and who they are?
Do any characters have multiple figures with different outfits?
Does the packaging look anything like old figure packaging or is consistent with any current packaging, or is it something completely new?
    Does packaging have photographs?
Does it have other figures in the collection printed on the back?
Are there extra features included (like with CommTech, the coins, etc.)
