This event has been fun for the club in the past, but I hadn't heard any mention of it, so I thought I'd bring it up. I believe Jim expects us to be there as in the past; I'll certianly show up in costume, and I'm hoping Buckaroo, G1Prowl and possibly TC517 will show up as well. Anyone else up for it?

We normally have a table for the FanForce to recruit new members, and we tell folks about the 501st, too.. MSD, you could promote your website as well.. Do the tables cost us anything (I didn't think they did)?

No, the tables do not cost us anything. I personally won't be available for FCBD, but those who want to go and set up can do so. Just talk with Jim and get it set up. We would need some simple flyers (small or large) with some basic info about the club:

    boards.theforce.net
    - Midwest
    - Evansville

    General & Book Club Meetings
    Collecting
    Costuming
    Movie & DVD line ups
    And much more!!
    email: wedgesothernephew@fanforce.net

It would be a great opportunity to talk up the club, but with everything going on (Premier night, C-III, Refresher Day/GM, etc.) we had not formally planned anything. I was hoping for a later FCBD, but we can roll with what we've got. Definitely post if you are available/interested.

I talked to Jim today in the store and he did mention you guys (the costumers among us) as part of the event next week.

If one of you guys will design the flyer and mail me the file, I can make the copies. How many do you think we'll need?

I'd say we need about 150 or so (thats 300 half sheets). It could be the same flyer we would pass out at the theatre.

I don't know where I got that number. I should know, as I copied them for Ep. II.
Nathan, do you remember how many we made last time?

I'll offer to design the fliers.. I can also print as many as we need. Let me know and I'll get right on it.

Also, people brought collectibles last time as "attention getters". I can bring my lightsabers and DL-44, anyone else want to bring stuff? And, how many can be there to watch the table?

Yeah, that would be great. I guess half sheet flyers would be best.

I can bring the Master Replica red saber if you want, but others might want to bring thiers instead. I will have the armor too of course.

Well, what are the hours it'll be open? I might be able to pull some in the morning/early afternoon.

Well, forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is it we're talking about? Or more specifically, I suppose, where?

I guess I made some assumptions here.. :)

Free Comic Book Day is a nationwide event in which comic shops offer free sample comics from various publishers, and often tie in other promotional events. In the case of Comic Quest in Evansville, they set up tables for local gaming and fan clubs and collectors to promote themselves. It's a great way to meet other fans and potential members. All we need are some people to be at our table and tell others about the club.

I have a flier for the 501st as well, would anyone have a problem with putting some on the table? Maybe MSD could promote EpicPlastic.com as well..?

As far as time goes, I only found out that CQ opens at 10:00 AM. if I remember correctly, that is about the time to be there, and it will last well into the afternoon. We can call Jim to get the hours tomorrow or Tues. to lock it down.

Other fliers are fine, but our main focus should be E'ville Jedi. After all, these are the FanForce forums. :)

The Mrs and I will stop by at 10 then I will be breaking to get her to work by 12 then heading back.

Thanks Joe for mentioning Epicplastic.com, right now the site isn't where I would want it to be and I would rather focus my energies on the group than the site.

Cole if you need us to stop by early to help you with your armor let me know.

Flyer looks great, Joe! What did you use to do the 3D text?

I can come by for an hour or so in the afternoon. I'll do what I can to help while I'm there. :)

It'll be around 11 before I get there. My little one has a soccer game. Does Comic Quest have a place for us troops to suit up?

Thanks for the comments on the flier, all.. I'll have plenty printed up by Saturday.

Prowl, CQ has a back room and a sizeable bathroom, so no problem suiting up once you get there.

MSD, thanks for the offer to help! I will probably need it. Also, if we are the only ones that are going to be there early, I will get there early enough to set up the table and be ready to suit up when you get there at like 9:45. :)
