hey guys im workin on makin some green screen backgrounds from video games it looks pretty cool so far like ur actually n the world the graphics r pretty good, im using screen caps i made from the force unleashed and battlefront 2, if anyone wants me 2 greenscreen their video for them or make them a nice library of backgrounds just send me what kinda stuff ur lookin for, it's prefferably to be in widescreen 16:9 ratio cuz i have 2 crop out the hud in tfu and the character n bf2 and i can only capture at 720x480 resolution so unless ur goin 4 low quality, this would be about 720x360. the available places are:
-Tie Fighter Factory (TFU, imperial base)
-Raxus Prime (TFU, dark and smoggy junk planet)
-Felucia (the one with the giant flowers) availeble in TFU with a bluish tint and big glowy floaty things or BF2 with a yellowish greenish tint and smaller glowy floaty things
-Kashyyk (the wookie planet) availeble in TFU at early night or BF2 with a rainy day look
-Death Star (availeble in TFU and BF2, not much of a difference
-Coruscant (TFU - local bar and more realistic jedi temple with out front, BF2 smaller condensed jedi temple with balcony and meeting room)
-Hoth (TFU - better graphics but only an at-te flipped over on its side for 2 player battle, BF2 - basically everywhere from empire strikes back)
-Cloud City (TFU, carbonite chamber only)
-Tatooine (TFU - 2 player battle place with a speeder, large animal skeleton and sand hut, BF2 - mos eisley city including cantina and slave quarters like ep.1)
-Ship (very limited, there is pretty much a wall with a computer)
ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ARE BATTLEFRONT 2 ONLY
-Space battles (cruiser interior and exterior, deep space)
    -Mygetto (snowy, bright junk planet)
-Utapau (the place where Obi-Wan killed Grevious in ep.3, underground city)
-Naboo (i think its the city but i might be getting it confused w bf1 so it might be the grasslands)
-Mustafar (where obi-wan and anakin fight in ep.3, lava/volcano planet)
-Kamino (where the clones are made, rainy place in the middle of an ocean, interior could be just about anything)
-Polis Massa (a rebel base on a moon, interior could be almost anything)
-Tantive IV (rebel ship where the beginning of ep.4 is, could be any ship)
-Yavin (where the rebel base is, jungle/forest planet with ruins)
-Degobah (yoda's house, pretty much everywhere it shows in ep.5 and 6 and a little extra exploring stuff)
-Endor (where the ewoks are, forest planet with imperial base)
-Geonosis (where the clones first come in in ep.2, lots of big rocks and dirt)

if this helps anyone just reply to this and ill c how i can help u out. peace

wow i thought u guys would b more interested! heres a sample video i made of the battlefront 2 version of felucia

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1-_PPfLcWI

seriously if u want ur video 2 b on any of these planets i can do it just send me ur greenscreened versions if u want me 2 edit it or at least a still of each shot so i can find a good angle to match it up with. the battlefront 2 levels are best for fullscreen but if ur okay with widescreen then the force unleashed planets r good 2. i btw i also own clone wars for wii, battlefront 1 for xbox, and episode 3 for xbox, but i can't figure out a way to take away the characters or the hud very well. in battlefront 1 and 2 i take the character away by backing into an object and it makes them transparent but battlefront 1 doesn't have a cheat code to get rid of the hud and i can't find anything on the other two, which is sad because if i could get it to work, the episode 3 game has some really detailed stuff and the clone wars game has some different unique worlds. thanks guys! send me stuff 2 work on plz!

Well I'd assume there hasn't been much response because pretty much everybody here can do it themselves. No offense, but video game footage isn't photo-realistic in the slightest bit and wouldn't make that great of a background in the first place. It would have to be re-made in a 3D app of choice in a much higher detail with way better lighting that would actually match the greenscreen footage. You can't exactly re-light the in-game footage to match.. You also gotta be wary of copyright stuff from Lucasarts. That's just scratching the surface really.

Just a word of advice, if you're looking for practice and nobody has anything to give you, I'd advise not to beg and keep saying "come on guyzzzzzz!!!!!1!". It reflects badly (as we've seen in previous cases here before) and generally makes people want to stab you.. That's not meant in a bad way though, just something to consider. Ask once, and if no response, don't pester people.
But yeah, if nobody has anything as it would appear here, you can always go and ask people in other places or alternatively, film some stuff yourself.

Again, I wouldn't advise video game footage for greenscreen backgrounds...

Unless you were comping Stephen Colbert in there somewhere, in which case it would make your video inexplicably, dumbfoundingly popular..

YES! 30 Points for new word creation: "dumbfoundingly"
*makes a note on his scratchpad*
    o.k. your go..

I find that idea quite interesting...

Of course, there's no doubt that it doesn't look photorealistic, but seriously: Does it have to be? Really? Sure?

Just to make you understand what I'm saying: Let's take a scene from Coruscant from.. uhmm let's say TFU. Tall buildings, some speeder traffic in the background, nicely animated by the Game developer etc. And you know what? If you manage to do the green screening lighting properly (or add some nice artifical lighting afterwards) it'll look great!
For distant shots I think that would be quite useful. And no, not everybody can make it themselfes. First of all, you need to have the game and second, a Computer with sufficient power to bring it as close as possible to photo-realistic (what might well be possible with TFU) And for people who dunno how to deal with 3D stuff it'll be great.

Thanks, and now mangle me :D

Consoles ARE computers, for all intents and purposes.

True, but Thath0r inclined that you need a powerful PC running Windows, and pointed out nothing about consoles. I'm well aware that a console is a computer, for all intents and purposes, but unlike PC's, they don't upgrade easily, and don't need new specs to run a game good.
