is the frog outside jabba's palace some species mentioned in the enyclopedia?

Are they the same species jabba has for food?

    Different species- Worrts are larger.

    from the unofficial encyclopedia:

"a froglike creature found on Nal Hutta, these creatures have long tongues. They have large frills around their eyes, and have no teeth. Jabba the Hutt brought a worrt with him to Tatooine, and it roamed his palace grounds as a deterrent to thieves and raiders. The average woort had a very slow metabolism, and spent most of its time rooted to a single spot, waiting for food to pass its way. The worrts which were found on Tatooine only reproduced during the brief periods of humidity showers, and had to mature in a very short period of time. "

What did it eat when we saw this creature on screen?

I don't know why, but I get sad when I see that scene. Just seeing the twin suns of Tatooine behind Jabba's palace. Knowing that Luke's home is out there somewhere in the planet, gets to me every time.

That scene gets me choked up too, as it features the first on-screen belch of the saga.

    Very touching.

The Worrt/Rock Wart thing takes the focus of the scene...kinda hard for it to be touching with that going on, IMO.

What about that poor Rock Wart's family? It's hard not to feel sympathy for them.

...The worrts which were found on Tatooine"

So do ya reckon the one we see outside is the same one we see in the throne room or a different one?
Only I'm thinking it'd need a way to get in and out of the Palace itself. It'd be really annoying for the guards/droid to keep opening the front/back doors just to let a worrt in and out... ...but they can't get annoyed and kill it because Jabba would go radge.

So I'm thinking some kind of Worrt-flap would be in order. Talk about a security-hole! No wonder half the Rebel-Alliance A-squad is able to sneak in undetected!
Maybe they should have used one of those flaps with the accompanying magnetic collar?

The animal in Jabba's throne room is not a Worrt. It's a frog dog named Bubo (full name Buboiculaar).
