In the Navy I knew someone who's last name was Cox. At the time he was a First Class Petty Officer. I must explain that you are titled by your job name, rank, and last name. I was an Operations Specialist 3rd Class. So if I were to be summoned to the quarter deck someone would get on the 1MC and say, "OS3 Adkins, quarter deck." So dude explained to me that when he was a 2nd Class, there was a 1st Class who's last name was Moore. They were Intercommunications or IC. See where this is going? So one day they were summoned, "IC2 Cox, IC1 Moore," there was a pause, "Quarterdeck."
