G.I. JOE live-action movie (how would you make it?)

Since I heard that this is a possibility, I was wondering how everyone would make it(i.e. who would you cast, who would direct).

The plot of mine would try to follow the first two mini-series before the Serpentor and Cobra-La crap began.

Feel free to cast your own and add as many characters as you wish.

I would go with unknown actors for all the parts except for Cobra Commander, that part would have to go to Christopher Walken.

EDIT: As for the plot I would follow the origin from the comic book... The cartoon is a little to chessey for my tastes... I mean come one the commander a space alien... pffit..

I agree. Go with unknowns when casting the film. Walken would make a great Cobra Commander.
As for stuff I would like to see, The Crimson Guard, Destro & Snake Eyes origin

Well, to stop it from being too big -- you have to go with a core group. And, I'd suggest THE core group...

Joes:
- Duke
- Scarlett
- Stalker
- Snake-Eyes
- Gung-Ho
- Torpedo (if water-scenes are involved)

Cobra:
- Cobra Commander
- Destro
- Major Bludd
- The Baroness

Everyone else would be random grunt Joes or Cobras... no Crimson Guards, etc.

 

No Crimson Guard... but you need them... they are the only member of Cobra that can operate in everyday society... Where do you think Cobra gets its money from... They get it from legal dealings conducted by Crimson Guardsmen...


I missed the bit about the Matrix twins playing Tomax and Xamot, they fit... Not that well know... do know how to fight...

I would just use Zartan, but briefly. Like DP4M said, you dont want too many characters.

I do agree that most of the TV show was lame; that's why I think the plot should draw from either the first two minis or the comic book.

 

The Comic book hands down. Larry Hama wrote some great stories for the original series. The new one aint bad either.

 

Seems to me I recall the comic actually making references to real events like Vietnam and such.
