You should make sure you download the most current drivers from the company's website. If that doesn't work, uninstall all joystick drivers, unplug the joystick, restart your computer, plug the joystick back in and let WinXP install it for you. I've found that a lot of joystick drivers don't work with XP. I had the same problem with my Wingman GamePad. It worked fine once I just used the WinXP drivers. Of course now I just use the simple Sidewinder Game Pad.

Ouch. Try using Google to search for the name of your joystick + the word "drivers". In your case: Interact Raider Pro drivers. That might give you a site which has the drivers, other than Interact. So I get the impression that Win 98 doesn't natively support this joystick?

And it's like this with any joystick even if I try to add one of the 'preset' drivers (ie. 4 Button 2 Axis Joystick) it still wont work.

If Google doesn't work, try www.download.com. No guarantees that'll work either, but make sure that you're searching the Web, not Windows.

That's one hefty download for a dial-up connection. You might want to get a download manager, such as Download Accelerator so that you can resume the download again if you have to get off the 'Net. Of course, if you have broadband, you won't need it, but on a dial-up, this really helps.

PS And ignore the buy thing. You just have to put up with ads, it doesn't continually say "Buy me or I'll stop working!
