Characters: Darklighters Luke, Beru, and Owen
AN: Jalissa is an OC.
Situation: Enjoying an evening with friends.

Luke was very happy. It was the close of a successful harvest and now at least for a handful of months, the workload would be less grueling.

He was happy that the Darklighters were coming as well. He enjoyed Biggs' company. They loved to skyhop race and longed to be pilots one day.

After dinner, Luke and Biggs left the adults in the common area and went off to have a "guy" talk.

"You're not still pining after Camie, are you?" Biggs teased good-naturedly.

"Nah." Luke demurred. "She's not about to notice me not with ..."

Biggs groaned. "She has the most questionable taste in dudes, you know that? You can absolutely do better."

Luke laughed, and they started tinkering with Luke's skyhopper. Upgrading they liked to call it.

In the kitchen, Beru and Biggs' mom, Jalissa, were cleaning up.

"You know how old my youngest is?" Jalissa said. "Going on 12 winters. So you'll never guess what I found out when I went for my checkup with the healers in Mos Espa?"

"What?"

"I'm pregnant." Jalissa exclaimed.

Beru's eyes widened as she hugged Jalissa. She felt an inner pang of regret. She wished that she could have had a youngling for Luke to have as a sibling. She didn't give way to wistful tinking often, but at such times as now, it was natural to do so.

All in all, everyone had a great time socializing and relaxing. As Luke lay in bed later that night, he dreamed of the stars ... and of grand adventures ...
And, oddly enough, of a beautiful lady with emerald eyes.
