George Lucas's fetish: cutting people's arms off!

I've noticed that an obsession that permeates all of the movies: the graphic removal of arms and other limbs. So, without further ado, here's the breakdown, episode by episode of the victims. I've ommited episode 3, since the spoiler deadline was moved to the 3.0th. It's a shame because there is a relivant line in the movie, though I can't spoil it

Episode 1: I can't think of anything for this one, please post if you can! This is the one exception (although I wouldn't mind voulenteering Jar Jar Binks as a victim though.....lol!)
Episode 2: Anakin, duh! Also Zam, that bounty hunter, in a bar, like the guy in episode 4. Thanks VadersLaMent for that one!
Episode 3: <censored, but it does exist> Please do not post who!
Episode 4:That alien in the bar in Mos Eisley.
Episode 5:Luke (or was that just a prop.....lol again)
Episode 6:Vader, although it had been cut off already.

Please post any expanded universe occurances. Isn't it interesting that this happens so many times.....

EP1 : Maul gets cut in half.

EP2 : Not only Anakin, but Zam gets her hand cut off by Kenobi, in a bar no less.

EP3: I believe today was the spoiler deadline. Dooku, Mace, Anakin.

Dismemberment is a common theme in mythology.

 

fyi the deadline for spoiler releasal has been extended to the 30th. Besides, even if you can i don't want to ruin anything. Plus, I don't want MY arms cut off by a mod.

 

In the NJO, Tahiri and Riina slice their arms off during their bonding, Leia chops Tsavong Lah's arm off, and I am quite sure there's a bit more. In YJK, Jacen cut Tenel Ka's arm off above the elbow.

 

AdamBertocci has already updated The Chopped-Off Hands of Star Wars to include RotS.

 

Dang! Well I guess I'm not going insane if I'm not the only one who noticed it. Still, if you want to be spoiler free, this is your post. Besides, who could resist the image of Jar Jar with no hands? lol! But I'll go ahead and spoil the funny line I mentioned in the first post (since I can't edit it any more): After Anakin dispatches a certain someone, and having cut their hands off before he struck the final blow, he says, "He was an UNARMED prisoner. I shouldn't have done that; it was against the Jedi way". I think that the laugh here when appreciatable outweighes the spoiler factor.

 

I just though of another thing: in ESB, that wampa loses an arm, too. It's the same scene where Luke Force-pulls his light sabre, ARMs himself, and then kills the wampa. Aren't those things (light sabres, not wampas) HANDY to have around? Ok I'll stop. But in ROTJ Palpatine says "I am unarmed". How do you exlain that one? Still, the characters don't risk life as much as they do limb.

 

The puns are what's killing me.
