JCC Give it up for dolphins

That's right: Diggy vetoed all dolphin gifs for the Sea Life award in this year's Wattos.

You know, I was so busy deciding to run with the penguin bit I didn't even notice what a strange omission that was, but now that you point it out? What a strange omission.

I'm all about the mantas and rays. Does anybody have the old gif that shows a whole school of them jumping up out of the water? That was awesome.

Given that mantas are now considered giant mobulas - close enough.

 

But why the comparison?
I mean yeah, lions are cooler than snails.

 

Mantas and rays are part of the shark family so also > dolphins

I go diving and I get a greater sense of awe when I'm in the water with sharks than I do with dolphins

My point is, sharks are just fish. If you wanna compare dolphins, compare them to whales. They both descend from dogs.

 

Hippos, not dogs. Or at least, the hippo is the land animal that shares the most recent common ancestor with whales, of all land animals.
