Show Summary (from TV.com) "Didn't know the world of high school glee clubs was tough? Fox is set to expose all the drama and intensity in a one-hour comedy musical from Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy. Glee is produced by 20th Century Fox Television, Ryan Murphy Television." Anybody see this?
9-10PM Fox, TV-14-D glee_150 Must Watch of the Week Series Debut Preview Glee "It's been four months since Fox teased us with a sneak peek at Glee, so to recap: Gung ho Spanish teacher Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) decided to revive the glee club at McKinley High, recruiting a squad of misfits-with-a-dream; villainous cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) tried to stand in his way; there was a killer rendition of Journey's ''Don't Stop Believin'''; and we totally swooned. The fall premiere finds Will expanding his group's numbers to qualify for regionals, with renditions of songs by Chic and Salt-N-Pepa, plus one particularly high-risk scene in which Morrison takes on Kanye West's ''Gold Digger.'' Also, Lynch hits more one-liners than Henny Youngman at a slow-pitch softball game, and we celebrate the fact that the summer's never-ending reality blight has at last been washed away by the cooling rains of scripted television ? something worth singing about, for sure. ?Whitney Pastorek"
So, just watched the pilot and series premiere, and I'm hooked. Officially a Gleek. The "Don't Stop Believin'" scene was spectacular, I'm gonna have to download it, LOL. Great, just what I need, ANOTHER tv show to be hooked on.
I've seen the pilot episode and loved it. Haven't seen the premiere episode yet. The show has a wonderful cast of characters, themes and subplots. Very good stuff.
Characters and story were great, but I was extremely turned off by the vocals, particularly the female lead (whose name escapes me) Is it wrong that I mislike the production because of a dislike for the style and sound of the music?
The show is completely full of High School stereotypes, some painfully so. You really detest a handful of characters; the cheerleaders, the jocks, the wife. I find our main female protagonist (Rachel) super annoying. However, I love all the adults. They're what make this show awesome for me. The show is fun. Jane Lynch is the most awesome protein shake-drinking antagonist.
9-10PM Fox, TV-14-DLS Glee "Geeky Kurt, who gets dumped into the garbage every week, decides to try out for the football team. Has the writers' room been watching Lucas again?"
I thought it was funny that in the commercials for this episode Kurt says "I'm auditioning for the part of kicker." That's good stuff. Sure, most of the characters are stereotypical, but so are some high school students. Plus, it much better to have evil cheerleaders and jocks than evil freaks and geeks. Go X-Men!!! Looking forward to tonight's episode.
This show has been great so far, playing around with stereotypes and cliches in smart and endearing ways. Only real drawback has been the fact that they have gone to the someone leaves/almost leaves the club idea every episode.
9-10PM Fox, TV-PG-DL Glee "Did anyone seriously believe Kristin Chenoweth was not going to make an appearance at some point?"
Okay, just finished the "Preggers" episode, and so far I think it's my favorite. It's so funny! Let's be honest, watching a football team dance to "Single Ladies" is just priceless.
Throwdown "Sue's new job as Glee co-chair gives her new opportunities to break up the club as she introduces a tough competition to the group." Airs: 10/14/09
Another great episode this week, when she is on fire Jane Lynch is one of the funniest women I have ever seen and tonight she was on fire. I guess it boils down to fun for me, yeah, there are layers to be found in the show and I do spend time thinking about them, but week after week it is a fun show to sit through. I especially like what they are doing with Quinn and Finn, and next week's episode looks awesome. On a related note I earlier bitched about the dueling pregnancies storyline, and while it's still preposterous I really like what they are doing with it, even the aspects I question initially this show manages to turn into something I like.
I love glee! Can't wait for the new episode tonight! I love the musical numbers in every episode. The songs are so addicting.
9-10PM Fox, TV-PG-DL Glee "Rachel and Kurt have a diva-off to see who will perform ''Defying Gravity'' from Wicked. This is also how the U.N. decides who gets to be secretary general."
9?10PM Fox, TV-PG-L Glee "Finn has dinner with Quinn's parents. Shockingly, the ''I knocked up your daughter'' chitchat doesn't go over so well."
I liked this episode a lot better than last week's. Mr. Shoe's having to deal with an infatuated student was a bit dumb, but the entire plot revolving around Finn/Quinn and Kurt was really sweet/sad.
