    Yeah!

    Van the Man.

Enigmatic, grumpy, ugly as all buggery. What a voice. What a writer.

From Them's GLORIA to his solo MOONDANCE to whatever he's been doing for the last 20 YEARS.

Sha la la la la la la. La la la la.

Unless he was a part of RUSH, or this is Eric Clapton's stage name, I've never heard of this guy. He looks to be in the same genre, though.

Should I have? Keep in mind I don't listen to punk rock.

Somtimes I forget that the 14 year-olds who post here haven't been exposed to classic rock radio.

And I weep for their souls.

For the record I'm only 17, and I've heard of him. :p Classics > anything in the last decade.

    Scummy

I just recently discovered Van. I've listened to Moondance and Astral Weeks at least once a week for the past 3 months.

    The Man indeed.

Tupelo Honey (which followed Moondance and Astral Weeks, IIRC) is also brilliant and worth picking up. As is his Greatest Hits. And pretty much anything else he's ever recorded.

EDIT: Pulsies, I'm in heaven ...

I have seven words of advice for all Van Morrison fans.

Don't ever go see Van Morrison live.

My parents are huge Van Morrison fans, and they spent almost 400 dollars to go see him when he was on tour last year. He barely played over an hour, he played none of his classics, and apparently he was a pretty arrogant jerk to the audience. Heck, he didn't even have an opening band playing before him.

Remember him for his music, but beware of seeing him play live. I think the cheapest tickets to the show they went to, were 50 bucks, for nosebleed seats. You're throwing your money away, if you pay to go see him.

Interesting. He's been at the top of my list of band's I want to see (that I haven't yet) for a while. I'd probably still risk it, if he ever comes to Austria.
