Gollum on SNL Weekend Update---that was awesome!!

did you all catch Gollum (aka Chris Kattan) on the special edition of Weekend Update? That was soooo awesome!! I've got to do a costume like that now; I have a friend who'd be perfect for it!!

Weekend update is good, but it's gone downhill IMO. Colin was much better at it.

Still a great skit though.

 

Colin? Hmm...I don't remember him doing it. I've only watched SNL for about 2 years...was Colin before that?

The Gollum thing was just great though. He stole the Super Bowl ring.

Fallon sucks, but Tina Fey can stay. She writes most of the stuff anyway.

I caught the episode last night when she almost falls out of her dress during the opener. Yeah, she can stay.

 

Yeah, Gollum was great!

I loved Fallon's song! It was so funny! Jimmy is teh sexy.

And, "in a triumph of anorexia, Lara Flynn Boyle is now skinny enough to wear actual Barbie clothes."

Colin was much better at it.

Colin Quinn was good, but, Chevy Chase was the ultimate. Kevin Nealon was really good, too.



I just called to say I hate you.

 

The two sided talk between gollum and smeagol about who would win was great!

 

IMHO, Colin Quinn was the worst Weekend Update "anchor."

Just not funny.

Dang! I must've missed it. I was watching the show, but I only saw the first half or so. That sounds so funny! I guess I'll have to wait for the re-run or the show's airing on Comedy Central.

 

The whole bit was really good, especially the American Idol thing to start off with. And Tracy Morgan was brilliant in all of his roles, particularly Al Sharpton.

Amazing.

 

I also loved where they made fun of the "NFL: Roman Numerals" commercial.

 

The SNL halftime special was funnier than most regular SNLs I've seen in a while. The Gollum thing was hilarious. Hama, that was particularly funny, too.

 

"The Bushes are racist."

- "George, George W., Jeb?"

"No. The shrubs outside my home. They hate that I'm a black man."

IMO, Colin Quinn was the worst WU host of the modern era. The only guy who was worse was the guy who hosted during the time that Julia Louis-Dreyfus was on the show.

My personal favorites were Dennis Miller ("That's the news, and I am outta here!") and Norm MacDonald ("Which once again proves my theory that Germans love David Hasselhoff.").

 

Collin Quinn was godawful. Worst weekend updater ever. The best were Norm MacDonald and Dennis Miller.

 

Bah! I missed it!

Does anyone know if these are put up anywhere for download? I need to see that!!!

I've never seen any of the other actors for Weekend Update. I'll have to start watching those late-night reruns of previous years.
