I was asking earlier about Twi'lek females, and now on behalf of a friend, I'm asking about the males of the species. I know that Bib Fortuna and Orn Free Ta are Twi'lek, but man oh man, are they ug-LY. Big nasty fat things.

This male friend of mine likes Twi'leks, but doesn't want to go with the huge and nasty route. Does anyone have pics from the movies, games, or other sources depicting any other male Twi'leks, preferably not repulsive looking?

All the male Twi'leks I've ever seen look like Bib Fortuna.

There are a few in various comic books. I don't read many, so I know only of two:

Tott Doneeta, a Jedi in the Tales of the Jedi books is wearing a dark blue robe, and he has wrappings of the same blue color covering most of his head. I think he has a human hue.

There is a blue Jedi seen briefly in one of the Republic - Battle of Jabiim albums. I can't see that his head is different from any woman's that we have seen so far.

So my male friend could make himself the standard-issue pair of Lekku and be fine, just as long as he avoids feminine-type decorations? He will be happy to hear that, he loves Jedi, especially Aayla Secura. But being male, he would have a hard time pulling off an Aayla costume. A male varient might be pretty cool though.

    abslutely,
tell your friend just to go for it. Think of the Star Wars universe as vast and varried as our own world. there are bound to be fat Twi'leks, short twi'leks, thin Twi'leks, etc, etc, as many and varried as possible. In ROTJ we got a green one and a flesh colored one, and now they seem to run the spectrum. Your friend will be fine as long as he can get a good pair of lekku.

There are several good examples of male Twi'leks in the SW Republic comic series. You get to see some of Aayla's relatives, who usually aren't very nice. So look for the trade paperbacks of "Rite of Passage" and the one that has "Jedi:Dooku" I think it's the most recent Clone Wars trade paperback.

Here is a link to a preview of Rite of Passage:

I think there are some male Twi'leks on page 3 or 4. It looks like male Twi'leks usually have knobbier heads, and the lekku seem longer and seem to come from higher up on their heads. They aren't all as ugly as Bib Fortuna, but they aren't just beautiful male versions of Aayla either.

    Hope that helped

Maybe I'm over-analyzing this, but it seems that female twi'leks are always wearing some kind of headgear that covers the forehead, but the males don't. Maybe the females have their heads bound when they're young to prevent those knobs from forming.

Or maybe it's just easier to hold the latex lekku on when there's a headband covering the seam. ;)

Either way, I think it's the forehead knobs that make the male twi'leks less attractive than the females. I suppose you could beautify a male by finding a way to cover them.

Or else making certain that they're not so pronounced. I'm quite convinced that Bib Fortuna was some sort of bizarre mutant.[face_thinking]

I was thinking about the male vs female twi'lek issue, especially the bumpy heads.
I suspect the more lumpy heads of the males may simply be a gender thing- like human males have adam's apples, where women generally don't. Or B5 Minbari- remember how both genders had the bone ridges around the backs of their heads, but they looked different? Female's were smooth and rounded, while male's had a more jagged appearance?

So I guess I will tell my friend to go for it- make the top of his head a little lumpier, but not too much. And have fun decorating those Lekku, but keep the ornament and head wrappings more masculine. I'll be sure to check those comics out too.
