I didnt know were to post this, but in TPM, is Ani's little blue friend Greedo? or is he just the same species? Has it been confirmed anywhere?

No, it is not Greedo. The one he fights (deleted scene, but in DVD) is Greedo. His friend that goes to the podrace is Wald.
