Where could I find a greenscreen? I overheard someone saying that you can just buy a certain type of green fabric at a local craft store and use it as a greenscreen. Any ideas? Thank you.

It doesnt matter what you use. As long as it comes out as a solid green color on camera. Then u take it into the comp and key it out in ae or whatever.

    Greetings anim8or4ilm,

Jedi_Kyeju is right. You can use just about anything. What material you use, however, is not nearly as important as how you light it.

If you have the budget, you can try THESE great products at StudoDepot.com.

Actually, TheSabreSmith bought some fabric at a local fabric store recently that is really good for greenscreening and he got it for a great price. I hope he sees this thread and posts the info about it. I'll remind him if I see him online later today.

Brandon (MacGuyver) linked me to this guy about a week ago:

    J an K on eBay

Click through the pages. They've got blue and green, in some absurdly large sizes too.

Also check out the Amvona Ebay store.

They have great service, I just bought a greenscreen muslin and framework from them a few weeks ago.

    Well......

The room I'd use for blue/green screening would have a screen 10' high, 14' wide, and 14' deep. Shouldn't I just get a 24' high, 14' wide screen, and lay the height from the ceiling to the floor going across the floor to cover the screen depth?

Also..... what sites are there about blue/green screen lighting (including clever ways to set up all the lights to get it out of the camera's view), setting up the equipment, how far away from the screen you should stand, etc.

go to a couple fabric stores or walmarts, i checked a coule walmarts and finally found the perfect color, weight, texture fabric, pretty cheap to, did a whole wall for under $20 bucks. just go online and look at some pictures on studiodepot and other sites to get a good idea of the color green you are looking for, not dark, but not to bright, a nice green is what you need. becareful though, you might need to put some fabric behind it or double it up depending on what you have the green screen up against so that you can't see through it, or get light though it.
