I just caught the end of this film this evening and a thought struck me. Don't you think that the scenes where they've taken over that building is what it would be like on a planet full of Yodas?

Another Star Wars connection is the actor Christopher Lee who is in Gremlins 2 as well as Episodes 2 and 3.

Gremlins 2 also starred Robert Picardo as Forster. Robert Picardo was the Emergency Medical Hologram in several Star Trek presentations, one of his other "artificial" characters was the voice of Johnnycab in Total Recall. Total Recall was inspired by a short story by Philip K. Dick called "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale". Another of Philip K. Dick's short storys to inspire a movie was "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" which, of course, we know of as Blade Runner. Blade Runner starred Harrison Ford who played a character called Han Solo in the Star Wars Original Trilogy.

Could be my dodgy memory, but don't we see a gremlin playing the Star Wars Arcade machine (ANH death star trench) in one of the movies?

I have no idea, but there's that thing in Jabba's palace that looks like one, and laughs like it too.

A more direct link is Peter Kuran, the visual effects guy who also worked on the OT.
