Hairstyles for female Jedi

Random question thats been bugging me this afternoon due to an upcoming fan film. It could be stupid, or it might not be.. I am half asleep right now... I am playing a female Jedi (Padawan) in it, and am wondering about hair style. I have long thick super-curly hair that I usually keep in a rather fat ponytail, or preferably up, for day to day as if its left loose it goes everywhere (so loose is not an option). I am pretty sure that my character would keep her hair tied back, or up - just to have it out of the way, especially since when the film starts she is returning from a mission to the Outer Rim (so probably seen a fair bit of action)... I am wondering, what sort of hairstyle would you expect to see on such a character? What would you suggest? The padawan braid will be easy enough to do.. but what do you suggest for the rest of the scalp-ful ??????

 

Hi, I think you should have an unusual sort of hair do, such as half the hair draping over one eye and then the other side pulled back tight, and use the back of that to create the padawan braid.

Have you checked out the female hairstyles thread yet? Lots of suggestions for hairstyles other than just Padme or Leia.

 

I would think that the hairstyle should be non intrusive to your fighting style, you don't want to cut it off with your lightsaber during a fancy move. That said, I'm sure after a hard battle in the outer rim, a female jedi might let her hair down on the trip back.
