Has anybody found a good pattern for making an ESB/ROTJ-style bib-front Solo shirt? I've tried looking at Simplicity's website, but for the life of me, I can't find anything other than kids' and women's clothing patterns.

Also, what's a good way to make some really good Corellian bloodstripes? My previous attempt was simply gluing some red hem facing onto the seams of my pants, then ironing on some small black stripes to make the red look broken up. It looks so-so from a distance, but looks worse up close. I really want some great-looking bloodstripes.

A good person to PM would be Dreamweaver_YJN, she did the Han Solo costume for a friend of mine and hers.

She can probably help you out.

I recommend checking out Obi-Wan's Jedi Academy. They have a tutorial on Han Solo.

For the shirt, they recommend using pattern #116 from Folkware:
    The Tauton Press
    63 S. Main ST.,P.O. Box 5506
    Newton, CT 06470-5506

For the pants they recommended using the same technique that you tried.

You might also contact a few of the Han Solo's that we have over at Rebel Legion.

I've seen the Obi-Wan site, but the info is only for the ANH-style costume.

I'll check out the Rebel Legion link, though.

My friend Beth made some great bloodstripes by taking a piece of navy blue ribbon that matched the pants, then sewing narrow red ribbon horizontally across it. Looks fabulous.

Were the finished stripes then sewn directly onto the pants? I thought about having that professionally done, since I couldn't do that part myself.

Yup, I sewed 'em right on the pants. Since it was for a stage show, I just used navy blue thread, but you could get some kind of clear thread to tack them down, I bet.
