Han Solo's ESB jacket

I was wondering the best way to make the jacket. Is there a Military-esque shirt/jacket or something that I can purchase and modify? Is so, what Military-esque shirt/jacket?

 

My gonna be Han at C3 he looks just like him, maybe you can convert a fisher man's vest...??

I have one that I altered. I took a navy BDU jacket and altered the heck out of it. Keep in mind- you have to take some material off the bottom of the jacket, so save it for the collar and additional pockets.

I also think that there is a site called JustHanSolo that has some awesome reference pics for this costume

I am using a heavily modified Simplicity pattern (the Civil War uniform one) to make the jacket for my sig other. And it's coming out great.

 

I bought one at the Army/Navy surplus store. It was perfect. I didn't have to modify it at all.
