Does anyone know of a place where I can purchase a reasonable looking version of Han Solo's Holster? I was able to find one on-line but they wanted $150 for it. And I was hoping to find one for much cheaper. Thanks for all your help!

Good luck finding one cheaper. You probably saw Matts, and you'll be sent there from everyone.

His look awesome! And well worth it, I think.

Making one would probably be your best bet if you want it to be affordable. I would guess that the supplies and leather would cost under $30. At least at the place where I buy my leather. It depends on the different vendors.

Thanks for tips ... keep 'em coming. Making one might be a fun project. But A) i have never worked with leather B) don't have any of the tools to do so C) i'm not very crafty. Any one find anything 'close' that they are using instead of a replica?

You'll need a sharp carpet knive, a ruler, a carbord cut out of your pattern, the leather/vinal and Leather weld :)

I bought one at home depot and spray painted it black. Looks pretty good to me. I'll see if I can get a pic up...

I decided to make my sons bandolier for his jawa costume and its turned out better than i thought.
I bought "vinyl" at a hancocks fabrics store for $3.88 a yard.i grabbed 2 yards, way too much.anyway i sewed the vinyl onto some pcs of bendable"foam board" a sheet costs about 50 cents at the craft store.i also found that "pvc cement" for plumbing holds the vinyl(plastic) really well.
you could cut out the shape of the holster back from the foam and then sew black vinyl onto it.then make another pc that "wraps" around for the front of the holster and then connect the two pcs.take a pc of the vinyl to the store and buy a matching belt.checkout thrift stores and goodwill store for belts.anyway it would be a great project and wouldnt cost much.then later buy a really nice one, unless yours turns out well.which can always happen.
    do your homework and goodluck
