Hans Moleman: what is the story of this guy?

This wonderful little man, what do we actually know about his life?
He's a former alcoholic, he looks 70 but he is only 33. What on earth ruined this man life in a way that he hates himself and everything?

Apparently, Hans Moleman is the spitting image of a security guard that worked at Groenig's building (during the Tracy Ullman run).

Other than that, I know he dies in nearly every episode he is featured in.

I realy love this guy, he is so sad that it's incredibly funny.

Hans is from a race of people that live underground, as seen in the episode where Homer bowls a perfect game

 

ah yes...the mole people..

But its simple...he drank away his health...plus a birth defect.

 

I love his little poem in the Simpson's Spin-off Showcase Epsiode.

I can't remember it right now, but his little flower wilts at the end, which is funny.

No, but Gerge C Scott won an Oscar for the same thing, snubbing Burns who had brided everyone in Hollywood.

The saddest is when he is executed in the local prison and Homer ate his last meal.

 

The best one yet is when Homer and Marge adopted Moleman.

That was from episode 9F14: Duffless. When Homer goes to the Alc-Anon meeting, Hans says he is 31 years old:
My name is Hans. Drinking has ruined my life. I'm 31 years old!

The producers of the Simpsons used to call him the moleman because he looked like a mole, but one episode he needed a name, so they thought up Hans, so he became Hans Moleman.

What I want to know is why Hans Moleman's head tastes like a peanut.
