So, anybody know where you can download some Harry Potter sound effects? Especially the wand effects? This is for the sake of all those doing the Wand Choreography Contest.

You could rip some from the DVDs. OotP was nice enough to go with no music during Dumbly vs Voldy, but those are pretty key effects that I'm sure lots people will recognize. We haven't discussed how we're doing sound effects yet, as we're probably going to be taking our film to the audio class at the community college here and let them have some fun with it. But we'll be worrying about that come summer/fall time.

Looks like there's a game made by EA...might try ripping something from that as well. :)

Put the top corner between your index finger and thumb on your left hand and squeeze tightly. Then do the same thing with your right. hand, right next to the left hand. Pull your right hand down, and your left hand up, and there you are! A rip! :p
    Sorry I couldn't help myself!

Seriously though. I've got a game called Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and you can get the .wav files straight out if the game files (.pk3) using a program called pakscape (it has been known that WinRAR can open .pk3 files too). I'm not sure if you can download another sort of compiler/decompiler for each different file type, but a simple google search would do the trick if you knew the file type! Try opening it in WinRAR also... It seems to open everything these days hehe.

I think you should get creative and try to not rip if it works out for ya.

Tamper with light saber sound effects. They work great!

Sorta, cant give out all my secrets...:D

But the sabers are the core effect, but lots of other things a mixing went into it. You can hear, thunder sheets slowed down in the backround of the spell just to add some depth and bass to the overall effect. I love mixing sound and sound effects.
