You can design your own by combining different variations of blade color, emitter, control box, pommel, etc.

Don't wait for that pansy kit, go to Home Depot like all true saber builders! It'll cost less too and you can make a more realistic looking saber than those plastic ones! ;)

What would the components you could get at home depot to create a saber?

Whatever this site tells you to buy

That was just the first one that popped up too.

Google it and you'll find all kinds of sites letting you know how to build everything on the saber from a realistic hilt to an EL or even LED blade ;)

Hmmmm. That would be something cool to do on my spare time. I might try it.

The Hasbro one looks cool too, though. I thought it was a great idea when I first saw it. I'm still getting it.

I would need two kits for the double bladed red saber.

Google 'The Big Yellow Box', that's the best hardware saber site out there.

I built a pretty basic looking one for $10.00 out of metal piping and what not. I even included a "D" ring to clip to my belt. I'm making a better looking one and so far it's price tag has been under $20.00. I'm using sink/faucet parts that are nice and shiny plus it's so much lighter than my first iron lightsaber! Lets just say, if you had my first one clipped to your belt and tried to run, you had better be wearing a cup! Ouch!

I also get parts from the garden/sprinkler section, but the bathroom sink area is where you can get the most bang for the least buck!

There's also instructions on how to make a realistic looking Darth Maul lightstaff out of PVC pipe floating around the net somewhere. It's suppossed to look pretty good too once it's all done and you wont have to spend $400.00 from Master Replicas either. I can't justfy spending almost $400.00 on a shiny metal nothing! Anyway, I was gonna try that after I finish my second saber.

Remember it's a real Jedi/Sith who actually constructs their own unique lightsaber! ;)

That kit does look cool though!

Not to be a wet blanket, but this discussion might be better over in the Costuming board as there is a very good thread about home-made saber hilts there.

I have made one Home Depot hilt using the drain pipe and other PVC fittings. I am currently planning out an all (or nearly all) PVC hilt. I plan to see how the spray on "chrome" looks.

And designed right a home-made hilt can be made to have a blade.

Don't buy from scalpers, it's on pre-order at SWshop.com for only $40.00! Down with scalpers, may they all get stuck with 100 Furbys that no one will ever buy! :D

Probably electronic, as it comes with a bulb and filters.

And to think, this is probably the closest Hasbro will ever come to making an accurate AOTC/ROTS saber.

EDIT: This seems to be the same one (but now it's got a red blade and purple filter) that was cancelled back in '03.

    Here's the old thread.
