PT Hayden and Jake Lloyd - completly different faces

They should have casted an Anakin more similar to Jake Lloyd, because Hayden is completly different, facially...

Jaw/general skull shape can differ a lot from age 8 to age 20 something. I'm sure Hayden's skull didn't look like it does now when he was an 8 year old

They should have casted actors with some.. facial similarity. It would make more sense.

Take a look:

The guy on the left is Martin Freeman, and the guy on the right is Ian Hold. Both played Bilbo Baggins. Freeman in The Hobbit trilogy and Holm in The Lord of the Rings. They're quite alike, aren't they?

I don't think they have to look exactly alike. It didn't suspend belief for me at all.

I did not say that.

At the time they were casting adult Ani, it was during AOTC's production. And they knew how the young one looked like because they had casted Jake as Anakin in 1999!

 

There is no sense in using a new picture of Jake Lloyd, nor is there any reason to use a picture of what Hayden Christensen looked like as a 12 year old, it is completely meaningless. Grown up Jake Lloyd isn't Anakin, neither is young Hayden Christensen, as such, one doesn't have to look like the other.

I don't think that Martin Freeman and Ian Hold look particularly similar either. They have a completely different chin-structure and vastly different noses. The only thing that is somewhat alike are the eyes and eye-brows, but even that doesn't work out on closer inspection.

 

Irrelevant. It is completely different with Bilbo and Obi-Wan because both actors were adults at the time. It is much, much different when there is a transition from a child to an adult.

Also it was important for Anakin to resembles Luke.

 

I've seen some nitpicks in my time, but...sheesh.

Not like they casted....Seth Green or something.
