I'm going to check out 'HellBoy' at the Paradiso on Poplar/Mendenhall at 3:45 today(Sunday). If anyone else would like to go meet me in the lobby around 3:20-3:30pm. I may hit Huey's down the street after the movie.

I'm off to the house and then the comic shop before I check out 'HELLBOY'!

    Woo-hoo!

Sorry, Lin. I was playing single dad today. Me and the girls went off to Sharon's house for a day out in the sticks.

"No phones, no lights, no motor cars...."

Well, at least no cell phones. You have to stand just right out there to get a signal. Blasted Cingular. They're evil, I tell you... Evil!

I think Hell Boy runs them.

That's cool- I wasn't sure when I'd be back in town and just did a last mnute thing. I didn't want to rush to hit the noon one, so I ended up going later. I ended up passing out once I got home, and only had moments of consciousness throughout the night. I enjoyed the movie but wanted to take the 'right hand of doom' to most of the folks in the audience! Man, you would have thought they were at home watching tv- or at an SMT Drive-In Movie Night! It's official, another movie theater in Memphis now sucks...I've got to start catching movies early in the week right ater work. At least then the odds won't be as bad if I tell someone to shut the hell up or turn off that freakin' phone!

Did I mention I did enjoy the movie..?

I would of gone Lin but I didn't have time due to church. If anyone wants to see it this week some time let me know, I'm dying to see this flick. On a similar note, I finally saw Clerks this weekend. Awesome, the Star Wars Death Star conversation was funny.

Yeah, Starsky was awesome. Hope they can get Ben & Owen to do commentary when it comes out on DVD. Based on the free DVD they gave away at Best Buy, HellBoy just don't look that interesting to me.

HB had some good moments in it. If you're a fan of the books I'd go see it- Ron Perlman is fantastic! If you're not a fan of the books, or 'Buffy', or 'Underworld', you may want to pass or wait until DVD/video. Abe Sapien was cool, too. Oh, and watch the end credits. A lot of folks left as they started and missed a bit at the end.

I need to catch S&H, 'Jersey Girl', and 'Passion of the Christ'. In a couple weeks 'The Punisher' hits he big screen.

TimC: If you think the 'Clerks' SW references were funny, you should check out 'MallRats', 'Jay&Silent Bob Strike Back', and 'Chasing Amy'- "What's a Nubian?" There's also a great animated short- either called 'Death Star Clerks' or 'Trooper Clerks'. I think it's still on TFN.

I've missed a few of Kevin Smiths earlier films, including Clerks and Mall Rats. I loved Chasing Amy, though. It the Con scenes that make the movie, IMHO.

Good to see you here on the SMT boards, Zach. Good to see that you survived MSC.

Lin I've already seen those. Clerks was the one I hadn't seen yet. Now I just got to go see Jersey Girl. Mallrats and Chasing Amy are my fave two.

Yeah, 'Chasing Amy' is my fave, but 'Mallrats' has always had a special place in my heart! I think I love CA because of the comics angle (and cute lesbian!), and MR because I worked in malls for years! I also love the Brody line, "Just because a guy reads comics people think he can't start some $#*%!"

    Preach on, Bro. Brody!

lol, I love that. I also think Stan Lee's cameo in ML was just plain cool. And yes Brody's the man.

Ok so I've always heard Hell Boy was a cool comic. I've read about it but I never had the chance to read any of the comics. Well, they had a $.25 on called the Corpse at Comics and Collectibles when I went to pick up the Hedge Knight #5 so I got it. A very good comic. nice use of action and humor. I'm hooked for now on. Just thought I'd share.

Yeah, you really an't go wrong with a $.25 comic.

That's how I started reading 'DareDevil' again!

The HB movie has got a lot of humor in it, especially the scene with him and a kid on a roof.

sweet, I've talked a friend of mine into going saturday after noon. I can't wait. Dark Horse has a lot of cool e-comics and I read the Hell Boy ones yesterday. It's a lot better than marvel's dot comics, cause you get a whole story.
