Hi Hello There (Is that cliché?)

Hello everyone, I'm new around here. I first watched Star Wars probably around age 5-6 but didn't think much of it. I only really came to love Star Wars quite a few years after first watching the films after seeing a picture of Naga Sadow on the web (The Force only knows how it was him I came across but there we go). After reading the wookieepedia article about him and then reading more about the founding of the Sith Order and the early Sith Lords and the rest of the Old Republic in general.
I guess it's not everyday that you get someone who found a love for Star Wars from the expanded universe huh?
Anyway, then I watched the films and became a massive fan of Star Wars in general. Well that was before the dark times, before disney...
Very soon after 25th April 2014, I lost almost all interest in Star Wars, knowing that the stories I love most suddenly were de-canonised then came the sequels that I really didn't enjoy, I really didn't like the concept of the First Order, since zero context was given to their existence in the film and Kylo Ren I just found to be a cringey Darth Caedus rip-off. Rey also annoyed the hell out of me. So I gave up on Star Wars and it became something I appreciated as opposed to something I was actively a fan of.
That was until the Mandalorian came out, not necessarily due to the Mandalorian itself but because suddenly all my friends were talking about it, and as someone that they knew as an appreciator of Star Wars we ended up speaking about it and they managed to convince me to watch it. A great series by the way, but it brought me back into the fold and a caught the bug again. I started to re-learn what I had learned before and decided that I don't give a damn what disney says, the EU will always be canon to me.
Though I hate to say it, I must admit that I do cringe somewhat when my friends talk about Mandalorians but know nothing of their true origins or really all that much about their history and say 'This is the way' instead of 'Vode An' (Man, The Mandalorian would have been a heck of a lot cooler if they shouted 'Vode An' instead), The EU Mandos are so damn cool. I guess that leaves me guilty of massive elitism but you know, you don't know the mandalorians from the Expanded universe were just perfect in every way

Anyway, I feel I've gone waaaay beyond my original plan for the scope of this post, but you'll find I often get sidetracked (and overuse brackets (and often nest brackets within brackets, so try to avoid confusion )). I hope I'll provide at least some entertainment and some reasonably interesting insight in my posts.

Many thanks, nice to know there are like minded people out there! Especially when only one of my friends has the faintest idea who Revan is! (One of them refuses to deal in anything "non-canon" which as I'm sure you can understand is incredibly frustrating )
