Hi, my name is SkyGirl91 and I'm new here. I've been on forums before (mostly The Lord of the Rings Fanatics Plaza) and I decided to join this forum because I have an essay I would like to post and also to participate in random thread discussions. I've been a Star Wars fan most of my life, my parents introduced to me to the Classic Trilogy back in the late 90's before seeing TPM and AotC at the cinema. When RotS came out I didn't see it till it came on TV because I didn't want to be classified as a "nerd" in high school (I was in grade 9 in 2005). But last year I got really into the Prequel Trilogy and TCW. Now I'm collecting Canon and Legends books (mostly Anakin Skywalker ones, he's my favourite character) and writing fanfic. I guess this is where the fun begins...
Hello! You’ll probably want to check out the Literature board since you’re collecting books. We gave a vert active Fanfic area, so please stop in there too. Welcome to the community!
@Lady_Belligerent thanks for the warm welcome Thank you also for the recommendations, I've already been checking them out.
No idea what that means. Going to assume you're saying I'm less-than-helpful in some fashion, and I'll just agree with you.
You don't know who Tollers is? It's J.R.R. Tolkien's nickname given to him by C.S. Lewis. I was referring to your profile pic
Welcome, how is your collection of novels going? Have you gotten a fav novel yet? Also have you read Revenge of the Sith novel?
Thanks for the welcome @AusStig I've got Anakin Skywalker novels from TPM to Brotherhood including the Jedi Quest series (so Canon and Legends) and The Dark Lord trilogy (which includes RotS). The other novel I have is Dark Disciple, I loved it, I cried it was so good, it's my favourite novel so far. Yes, I've read RotS. Btw, I'm in Australia too.
I like RotS but it triggers me a little bit because I have tocophobia (the fear and disgust of pregnancy and childbirth). Dark Disciple is more of an escape.
Welcome @SkyGirl91 !!! Its so wonderful to see the next generation of fans coming through, I myself love stories and legends mostly. It looks like the welcome mat is well and truly out for you!! If you have questions or queries, I am more than happy to help and answer to them to the best of my ability! I'm late to this party but as you know, holiday here in Australia and I was doing ANZAC Stuff today! Mate, seriously, have you looked in the mirror of late?
I love those days, I am hoping to have a few as I'm on leave this coming week!!! Actually, I MCd a local one....... for a retirement village. Not a huge turn out, but 60 oldies were happy they had something to attend with their walking frames
BTW, as to novels, you should check out Lost Tribe of the Sith. It's Legends, now, but it's so good! And, my wife is the Tolkien nerd in the fam. That picture is, apparently, the main character from CS Lewis' Space Trilogy.
