Hi all, I'm a long time fan but not a serious collector. I still have my original obi-wan, darth vader, luke, han, boba and leia from the original line. But what I really want is a nice darth vader to pass on to my 19 month old son, Walker. He's too young to watch the movies now, not that he hasn't seen parts of them :) But the question is, what would be a good one for me to pass on to him? I like the unleashed series but only find Obi, Ani and General Grevious at the local stores here. When were these Unleashed Vaders unleashed? I understand there's probably NO chance of finding one in a store. Is that true? Or should I bite the bullet and buy one off ebay? Please help! You're our only hope!

i just bought one off ebay. guy lives like 20 minutes from me so i'm just picking it up and not getting charged for shipping. anyways...if you want to get him the older one ebay is the best bet.

or get him the new one. $15

First of all, welcome tnmg! [:D]

Vader Unleashed is rather hard to find, especially the "Redemption" version (the one with the removable helmet). I think your best shot would be eBay. Be patient, I'm sure there'll be plenty of oppertunities. I recently won a Padmé Unleashed for just over $20 :D. There were many other offers with prices doubling or tripling that. So, patience is the keyword I guess.

You might also want to try one of the links in the Official Online Resources Thread.

But the Kotobukiya Vader is also very, very nice. There's a new version on the way, you know. Bit pricey, though ;)

By the way: this Format Bar is awesome! Probably the best thing since sliced bread!!!

There's a new one coming out? Or just a second wave of the same figure?

Thanks for the welcome! Yes, Vader Unleashed is next to impossible to find at the local spots. My wife has been on the phone calling around and we've checked everywhere here (even the other toy aisles behind things. Will there be more releases of the Unleashed? That Kotobukiya Vader looks pretty sweet. Is this a model kit you have to put together? I saw one at shop.starwars.com. Its not shipping until Oct 19 right?

So far, it looks like this --> Kotobukiya Vader, Unleashed Vader, Unleashed Vader (Redemption).

What about the C3 Vaders? I've seen some people go nuts about them, and others mad after waiting in line for 8 hours. Thanks again!

The Kotobukiyas are soft vinyl model kits, that you can put together without using glue or paint. You probably saw this Vader. It's the second Vader from Kotobukiya.

I recently ordered this one. That's because I couldn't choose between Gentle Giant's new Vader statueand the Speeder Bike statue :). I chose the latter.
