Okay, let's talk Hera. What do you expect to see from her. Man, I watched Kanan's last episode last night in my Rebels rewatch and what a gut punch. That and the following episode. Regardless, a lot has been spoken of about Sabine (which you can tell I'm excited for) but not much about Hera and I just wanted to open up the discussion.

I'll admit I cried when Kanan died. I want to see how Hera has changed now; that she is a mother, the rebellion being over; the Ghost crew dispersed. Zeb is now with New Republic. Sabine doesn't seem to be with her. Do we get to see her with Jacen? (I'm so hoping he's force sensitive, and Ezra will train him, bring it full circle. But that would be another show.)

Ugh...rip my heart out Dave Filoni why don't you I thought last night. The episode after may have been sadder.

In Sabine's epilogue it gave the impression they were separated quite a while. Hera was fighting w/the Rebellion. We see some of that in her cameos in the current SW comic. Sabine never says where she was...was it on Lothal? I'll see tonight. I am interested in what brings them together though as far as Ahsoka goes beyond Thrawn. I also want to see a Force sensitive Jacen as well.

I don’t need any kind of Kanan appearance/ voice/ memory, I’d just love some kind of little nod or reference to him. Hera spent so much time going all in with the rebellion that post-battle of Endor you’d have to feel she’s had some time to reflect and miss him

Yea, I wouldn't say I need a Kanan voiceover either, a nod would be nice. Well Jacen will be there, right? He's a nod in himself.

Jacen is not list in IMDB. However, IMDB has everyone just being in one episode. He also wasn't in the trailers. I will however hope, we'll at least get some sore of appearance.

so I'm a huge x-wing/pilot fan, wedge is one of my favorite characters from the OT, and I loved the novels about rogue and wraith squadron, still regularly re-read them

and now Hera has kind of taken that role in the new material, just ever present in multiple stories and always basically being the good rebel and top notch pilot throughout, really cool character that I never get tired of seeing more stories from, I'm glad they have integrated her into basically all parts of the rebellion

All long as Hera can fly, not even motherhood would stop her from fighting in the Rebellion. I'm sure having a child would make her fight even harder.

She was one of my favorite characters in Rebels, so I’m eager to see how they translate her to live action. One of the vaguest parts of the post-OT/pre-ST period we’ve been seeing in tv is the relationship of the New Republic to the Empire remnants, and the legacy of the rebellion. Hera could be uniquely suited to exploring those developments and making it all feel more contiguous.

Also hoping they built some awesome sets of the Ghost, on par with all the Falcon sets over the years.

I wonder what she was doing after the Battle of Endor? Did she stay with New Republic like Zeb? Go back to Ryloth? Lothal? Help with Imperial remnants?

We already know thanks to Squadrons that she played a role in the final development of the Starhawk Cruisers post Endor. I think Zebs involvement with the Rangers after the conclusion of the GCW hints to her being a part of that unit or maybe even being its leader, seeing that she is/was a General and a pilot.

She featured prominently in the Alphabet Squadron book trilogy. Which I didn't like, but that's neither here nor there.

She is one of my favorite characters in all of Star Wars but even she could not save that trilogy for me—I had forgotten about it.

Many thanks for the information. My EU knowledge is limited at best. Hera character has depth in the SWU. I enjoyed her episode on the Bad Batch.

I've read most of the Canon books, but passed on those. They just didn't catch my eye.

They’re good books just very dirty, much closer in tone and content to Andor than anything else.

I have read all the new canon novels and the Alphabet Squadrons ones are by far my favorites. They contain actual, believable characters and more realistic presentation of the realities of war. As @Todd the Jedi mentioned, they are very close in tone (and level of talent) to Andor.

From the first trailers, I got the impression that Sabine would play a much larger role than Hera, so I was pleased to see she got more screen time in the new trailer. She's one of my favorite characters from Rebels, with a great backstory, and to see her in live action makes me really happy. I hope she plays a large role in the show. The bad news is: the more screen time Hera gets, the more screen time Chopper will get.

Don't speak that way about Chop! He's a lovable little psychopath.

I don't like him. I won't say "hate," it leads to suffering.

He's too "look at me I'm a comic-relief goofy droid that also serves as a nostalgic nod to McQuarrie artwork for the O-OT fans!" Just......too far IMO. Too 'intentional' if you know what I mean.

I get that. His voice is also very annoying. And his arm-waving is…I don’t know. I prefer R2 shaking like he’s about to explode.
