it's when people post under some other (sometimes funny but not always) made up name on the boards...

a lot of the time there will be a conversation going on and they come on and post with a sock that relates to that convo...ie i talk about chopping off heads of pirates with lasers, my sworn enemies...and someone came on with laser pirate as their name..
