How can you jump up and down? by definition jumping means you move up (even if not for very long) so really instead of jumping up and down you're constantly jumping up.

Jumping up results in you going down.

jumping up and down does not necessarily imply that you are jumping down also. it is saying that you are jumping up and falling down, but removing the 'falling' for ease of use. yes. to me you listen.
