The 2nd or the 10th? First, we hear it's the 10th, then it's the 2nd, then it's the 10th again...just WHEN is this thing coming? Odd that the release date has changed three times in 24 hours... is this some April Fool's Joke or what?
It will be available on BOTH tonight at midnight and on April 10. It will be free with a 35 dollar SW purchase at midnight madness, or with a 25 dollar SW purchase on the 10th. They also will most likely sell any leftovers they have after that. Or you could go on ebay right now and pay 50 bucks for something you can get for free in just a few hours/ days like some people are doing. I'd like to know how something that's supposed to be an exclusive, free giveaway found it's way on ebay in mass quantities weeks before it was supposed to be "given" away. Could it be that some of these scalpers actually work for Toys R Us?
Mmmmmmm, could be. Actually, according to more reports now, it again available tonight only at Midnight Madness in Times Square w/ a $35 purchase.
$35 purchase is alot then over here in the uk they have got them in all the toys r us and you get one for free when you buy 2 figures
TRU blew it big time. It should have been a Midnight Madness item, seeing as now no one will buy anything at TRU, opting instead to go to the WalMart and Target events to get the freebies.
Supposedly a friend of mine was just at our TRU and they had them...? so we're hitting there tonight too.
TRU was a mere secondary option for me, but even though I was done with what I wanted from Wal-Mart, we had to stop by TRU to meet up with friends in the 501st. I asked a guy on duty who I've had help from in the past with shipping dates on SW product, and he confirmed that the local TRU isn't going to offer the Holo Yoda until 4/10. Bummer.
The Toys R Us had them last night. I managed to get one but it seemed like alot of people really didnt get one either cause they didnt know they were there or didnt care about it.
Or you could go to amazon.com and get him for $10... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0007PGJB2/ref=wl_it_dp/102-8235967-2055356?%5Fencoding=UTF8&coliid=I20HPZPI35JCXU&v=glance&colid=1HNZS4J4QJHFG
well the amazon.com link is now sold out. My toys r us didn't have these last night...is it safe to say that april 10th will be the day then>?:???
One of the TRUs near me had 12 to sell with a $25 purchase, but unfortunately that was the store I wasn't at for the midnight opening. The manager said that one guy demanded that she give him 4 free because he "heard" that they were free and he was buying $100 of stuff. The TRU I was at said that they were told that they were only to sell them on the 10th, though the guy I talked to didn't say whether it would require a certain amount.
My TRU had 12, which they gave to the first 12 people in line. However, they charged us the $9.99 for it, telling us that the free one with a $25 purchase was only on April 10.
One TRU I went to took rainchecks for the first 12 people that inquired about them, but you had to pay. The other TRU I went to expected them to come in by the next day or two and told me if I went ahead and bought $25 worth of stuff, then bought back my receipt, they'd give me one. I told him I'd probably just wait until I knew he had them and he told me to keep calling everyday this week to be sure because he wasn't sure how many they'd get.
has anyone else had any luck with the yoda...i still haven't heard anything about it...I want one, but my toysrus didn't have them
I got one for ten dollars as Toys R Us opened on the 2nd (at 10:00 - mine didn't do midnight madness). There was no ceremony or anything - there were ten or so (I assume twelve, since that's the number that most people are reporting at their stores, but I didn't count them) just lined up vertically with the other basic figures. It was the only thing I got there also. No $25 or $35 purchase or anything. EDIT: Edited for grammar.
The 10th is the official release date for this figure, the Times Square special and oddball early availability notwithstanding. It looks, from TRU's website, that you'll have to fork over $25 for a SW purchase, then get the figure for free. I don't expect fierce competition for this figure, which is probably the weakest of the exclusives (even if it's produced in the largest numbers).
