Holy Crap! Emily Watson let herself go!

She was at least kinda' attractive in Equilibrium, but I just saw her in HBO's making of Corpse Bride and...ew

 

Emily Watson's a very fine actress, and anyone who's not seen Breaking the Waves is missing a fantastic movie. Kind of liked her in Punch-Drunk Love, too. And she was in The Luzhin Defence. Anyone in a Nabokov movie's okay with me. Well, not really. But Watson is.

I keep meaning to see Equilibrium, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

You're not missing much. Christian "Thank God for Batman Begins" Bale and Watson had great chemistry. Also a great (if short) performance from Sean "Hey, it's Boromir!" Bean. Aside from that, the script is the sort of crap that makes 'The Matrix' look like Shakespear and the designs looked like they were borrowed from all other sci-fi films.

I think that was the character name of a really old lady in the Andy Griffith show. Or something close to that.

As for Equilibrium, don't listen to this guy, Mast. That movie was awesome, and the fight sequences were far superior to those of the Matrix films.

Both stories kind of crash at the ending, though, I guess.
