How did Padme survice the arena battle when so many Jedi died

Many Jedi, inspite of the force to protect them seccumbed to the onslought of the droids, how then did Padme survive it? She didn't even take any help from Anakin not mention that the Trade federation Vice-roy was especially eager for her head.

 

Plot device.

Luck.

Unlike the Jedi, she did keep moving pretty fast - riding along on that orray while picking off droids - like mother like daughter, a sure shot - and when the orray was killed she took shelter in the gondola with Anakin at her side. Likely he was deflecting droid fire from himself AND from her then and later though I can't substantiate this. IMHO.

 

It's against their programming for droids to shoot at angels and deities.

 

She did a great service to the arena battle, adding some interesting costuming contrast to the drab brown and tan outfits of most of the Jedi, but I think he meant "survived" the arena battle.

I think she survived because she was really good at avoiding the laser fire, perhaps she was aided by the Force.

Anakin is protecting her nearly the entire time. It's a good thing to have the Chosen One protecting you.

My opinion is that for the most part the battle droids weren't even trying to kill her. The line by threepio "Die jedi die!" seems to mean that the battle droids had been programmed to attack jedi, however they know what jedi are, probably anyone with a lightsaber. So I'm guessing they figured she wasn't their first priority, and maybe only shot at her if they were directly attacked by her.

 

Well, she did have a Jedi protecting her!

 

But how did Anakin protect both Padme and himself when most of the other jedi couldnt even protect themselves?
Yeah, yeah I know hes the chosen one and all but come on!
When the jedi had retreated into the circle at the end of the battle Anakin is standing a couple of meters from Padme, how could he have protected her then?

See, here's the thing about Star Wars . .














. . it's fiction. And since Anakin and Padme are two of the main characters and there is still one film to go, it's pretty much guaranteed that they will survive.

You might as well ask why the stormtroopers were never able to hit Han, Luke, Chewie, or Lando. (They did hit 3p0, R2, and Leia.)

Well IF you watch the scene Anakin is always with her. His mandate is to protect her so he does.. Even if it wasnt his mandate he still would of


He also does not use a lot of offense.. He is mostly on defense. Deflecting the blaster bolts.. Padme gets in the cart and Anakin stands in front deflecting blasters.

Because it's a movie, and the heroes don't die unless it serves the plot.

To isqfreak you listen. The Droids were'nt specifyed on killing her(Die Jedi Dogs!!)

I also agree with whoever said Droids are'nt programmed to shoot angels.

 

That cart she rode in with Anakin helped protect her. And when it tipped over, she and Anakin stood close by it.

Then there's Anakin who helped protect her.

 

A Couple of reasons. Anakin was there to protect her. Fate. Will of the force. Its a film, and she happens to be a main character.

 

Clones are better than droids. Clones later become stormtroopers. As we all know, stormtroopers can't shoot well. This implies that clones can't shoot well either. And if clones can't shoot well, and yet they are (in the words of Lama Su) "immensely superior" to droids, then of course the droids can't shoot. So Padme survived.

As for why so many Jedi died. Well, it's all a matter of statistics. Imagine you were a battle droid in that arena trying to hit about 200 different targets, 199 of whom are Jedi and one of whom is Padme. Statistically speaking, the probability of you hitting one or more Jedi is much higher than hitting Pafme.
