Did Fett blast open some gratings and fly in? Did he somehow manage to get inside the last time Executor dumped her garbage? And better yet, what made him decide he should go in there in the first place?

    I am so very confused.

I don't think it was in the chute, I think Boba did the same trick as Han, just hiding near the chute and allowing himself to drift away "with the rest of the garbage". Bear in mind that the Falcon couldn't see Slave 1 in flight, so whatever prevented her from seeing that also prevented her from seeing Slave 1 from maneuvering into place.

I was talking about the scene in ESB where Fett surreptitiously follows the Falcon by drifting out into space along with the ejected garbage. Sorry if that wasn't clear. :)

I always assumed that Fett just positioned the Slave I somewhere on or near the Star Destroyer in a sensor blind spot and then shut down the Slave I's power, pretty much the same as the Falcon.

When the Destroyer dumped its garbage, Fett let his ship float out unpowered into the debris field, never having actually been in the garbage chute itself.

The Slave I apparently used some sort of stealth technology to avoid sensor detection by the Falcon.

Ok, now I get you ;)

I agree with most of what has been said above.

The Slave I apparently used some sort of stealth technology to avoid sensor detection by the Falcon.

It shouldn't really need to, Han was so sure of himself over this matter, that even if he could have detected Slave I he wouldn't have done so because he didn't bank on the Imperials have the intelligence to rattle his plan, let alone a Bounty Hunter.

If you saw something shaped like a shoe with white stuff all over it, wouldn't you think it was trash too? ?[face_plain]

Come to think about it, the "trash" that was ejected, was rather big!

Considering the size of the star destroyer, the trash was unusual large, do they eject trash in these quantity and size regularly?

Well, they did have a lot of ruined equipment from the asteroid field.

Sorry to correct you, Lady Mara, but it wasn't the Executor's trash that Slave I was hidden in, but rather the Star Destroyer Avenger's. :)

I agree with the people that believe the Slave I was positioned near the garbage chute. Perhaps Boba Fett knew that Han had the ability to use the garbage chute to his advantage or Boba had heard of Han doing that before. Han is considered the best smuggler in the galaxy. He must have some very unique tricks.

Can you imagine what the Galactic Green Peace would say about all those dumpings in space? ;)

It wasn't random; Fett knew that the Falcon had buzzed the Avenger, so he suspected that Han was hiding on it, since he got fooled by a similar trick at Geonosis.

Bib's probably got it. Boba is a very experienced bounty hunter, and he probably just took off and sat in the way of the garbage release.

Mr. Fett wasn't no dummy. After all, he may have been trailing Han for some time for Jabba. It was only after that Vader commissioned him (and the rest) to scour the galaxy for him.

Knowing his prey so well, he had to have known the Falcon was in the area...

...for all we know, Fett followed Han there.

actuall your all probibly right, I was just having fun with the random concept. just seemed funny to me even when I was a kid that boba was ready for it. and also I always thought that doing that would alert the empire to where han was before they detached. if boba knew then why not just radio vader and say "I found him, hes hiding on the back of the avenger" saves the time of splitting the fleet up and going to bespin.

If Boba had done that, it would have probably alerted Han that he was being tailed. Fett knew he could just bide his time and wait for the Falcon to land somewhere before calling Vader.

sorry did not make my self clear. I actually understand the whole thing. that last post was a thought I had a long time ago. boba needed to do it the way he did. he did radio ahead when he figured out where han was going and the empire arrived shortly before han did.

but god how do you hide a ship the size of the executor?

yes, but had Boba informed Vader immediately two things would have happened:

    1. Han and the boyz would have had about 10 "thug boys" (bounty hunters) on his ass before Leia could say "Anoat"

    2. The entire fleet would have surrounded them, and we wouldn't of gotten to meet "Ugnaughts"

    which brings me to...

    3. 3P0 wouldn't have been turned to Hashish

It was either on the far side of the planet from the Falcon's entry vector, or it just waited a few light hours away.

Just think how it would have gone if Boba had just tugged on Vader's cape and said..."I bet he's hiding near the garbage chute...pay me."

I guess this is one of those scenes that ceases to be cool if you think about it too much:

So in a GFFA they can make near-sentient droids and travel outside of the spacetime continuum, but they can't detect a house-sized spacecraft pursuing within visual range or even landing on one's own spaceship. Ohhhhh-kay...

I didn't think he was in the garbage chute. I always just thought Boba was waiting around the Executor for Han.
