How do you mix Kahlua and Coke without it being all milkshakey?

Every time I mix the two together it turns light brown and thick. How do you get them to mix correctly (it still looks like plain Coke)?

 

I dont know, but that mix sounds really good!

 

I have never heard of anyone mixing Kahula and Coke, so I have no clue on anyway to mix it and have it still look like coke. Some things aren't meant to properly mix, so I guess you have to make do. I could be wrong though.

Edit: that does sound pretty tasty. I'll have to try it one day.

 

Okay, being that this is one of my favourite drinks (or close enough anyway!), my suggestion is that you pour in the shot and then the coke, in a tall glass, rather than a normal one.


Then add vodka and make it a black russian

 

That's way too light, anyway. Stick 5 or 6 doo-doo balls in there and mix thoroughly.

Actually a friend of mine got me into K+C a while back. They serve it at most bars (they do at all the ones I frequent). It's very, very tasty... maybe even a little too sweet.

If it helps, I have a bottle of Kahlua Original Mudslide. I'm guessing this is the kind most bartenders use, although I know there's other varieties like the White Russian mix.

 

It ends up being very sweet.

I think it might have something to do with pouring it over ice maybe?

Okay, put the mudslide down, back away from it, go to a bottleshop, buy a bottle of ACTUAL KAHLUA and then come back to your coke and pour in a shot.

Don't mix the coke with the milk unless the milk is in the form of ice cream!

Ah, that's the problem! I don't know thing one about mixing drinks, but I didn't know if Mudslide or regular Kahlua made a difference or not. Thanks for the clarification!

I was sitting here puzzled on why it wasn't mixing and he didn't have true Kahula. It all makes sense now.
