How does everyone know how to fly in Star Wars?

How does everyone in Star Wars know how to fly so well. I understand Jedi have the force but Leia was flying Padime flew a little bit. Where did they learn to fly. I bet even Yoda is an awsome pilot!

 

How do so many people on Earth know how to drive?

They learn

 

i think in their universe it's effectively like driving a car is for us... you would travel a lot more, and longer distances in the sw universe so everyone would need at least a basic knowledge of flying... it would be a necessary survival skill, in my opinion anyway.

Are you referring to the button on Padme's ship where it did everything?

 

I think its a matter of practice....cause you don't have to have the force to be able to fly a ship. Now pod-racing is a different story.

In Boba Fett: The Fight to Survive there are references to Jango teaching Boba about pre-flight checks and piloting of Slave I.

 

It is kind of intriguing how every ship Luke gets into he knows how to fly. Do all the ships have similar or exact controls...for example Chewbacca and Han easily fly the Imperial ship in ROTJ.

 

I think it's just like getting into a different car from the one you usually drive. There are some differences, but not enough to render you incapable to drive it. Luke is a very gifted pilot, so I think it's fairly easy for him to adapt to different vehicles.

 

Luke flew an Incom T-16 Skyhopper on Tatooine. The cockpit and controls of that ship are similar to those of the Incom T-65 X-Wing. Similarly, Han was with the Imperial Navy for a number of years and Chewie was enslaved by the Empire, giving them both exposure to Imperial technology.

I'd imagine that most controls on a starship would be pretty universal, just like cars.
